Made for each other. Hope he fails again. For me, it couldn't be a better team for him to fail at. Is your favorite drink bitter? : :

I am surprised, I thought Ternant would have been the obvious choice for the Brum job!
Not sure the Brummies will understand his accent and vice versa!

You hate us because we sent you down in 2001? Classy
That's to the fans who still do. Fair play to people wishing him luck. We wasn't too excited about this appointment but our shortlist was dire and were not really in a financial position to be appointing the Holloways. We also realise you could say Clark failed at Huddersfield, for League one he spent a lot of money but hopefully he still has a good career ahead of him. This will be a real challenge for him and possibly the making of.

You hate us because we sent you down in 2001? Classy Like most clubs, its the calibre of fans that dictate like/dislike of a club. Yours have always been aggresive and violent whenever Ive been to St Andrews. generalisation or not, thats the way it is on first impression. I even took my daughter to her first ever town game at yours in 97, and as we were leaving the ground, your little heroes were lobbing bricks at us over the wire fence you had at the time. It will probably make you proud, but you, Millwall, Stoke and leeds are the clubs I dislike the most. (Hayley was 5 by the way, and she was terrified, well done)

It was a combination of several issues, the most obvious of which was we were not good enough. You should be able to sleep better now. I have not been keen since Bob Latchford broke Terry Pooles' leg...and that's a long time ago. Clark is in my humble opinion, a good manager and the reason we are back in the Championship. Good luck!

Fair enough, i'm sorry to hear you had an unpleasant trip here, but all clubs have their pricks and it was obviously a lot worse back then. You shouldn't associate a club with their trouble makers, just because the zulus have a big reputation doesn't mean we all think were hooligans.
I'm also looking forward to my first trip to the Galpharm. So glad I didn't make the trip in 2004! Good luck for the season guys, I always wanted use to come up, mainly because I wanted to do the away trip and the fact you travelled well away from home in a league full of tinpot support. Reckon you'll bring many to us? I imagine the chance to get one over on Clark will add a few numbers. Max allocation is 4200.

I don't mind Lee Clark---glad he went though & on my 4 trips to St Andrews--like Malvern Terrier I have been subjected to aggressive awful thugs in abundance. This can happen anywhere I know but if Clark gets the same consistency from his new players as Birmingham City get from their thugs he will do ok. I was also there in 70/71 night match when Latchford broke poole's leg and also in 71/72 with 13,500 Town fans at their spot when the same beast did Lawson --in 94/95 & 99/00------

Great News for the city of Birmingham.................... In LC they have a Manager with the stature of Sir Alex Ferguson, Matt Busby, Pep Guardiola, Bill Shankly, Herbert Chapman, Brian Clough & Jose Mourinho
Well thats one automatic place taken up

Trevor Francis.. Great player, clubs legend, possibly the best to ever play for us but he was a bit of a wolly as a manager. Not really his thing. What style of football does Grayson play? Thought his Leeds side were pretty dull when we played them, we also got him the sack after Zigic stuffed them 4-1 at Elland road

Got to agree. I wouldn't have a dislike for Birmingham at all if it weren't for that turd francis giving it large after they relegated us. No humility at all at the time and it started a long downward spiral that has only just resulted in us getting back to where we were.

PDFC.. Your mates are in the minority, even though mad mick is a good proven championship manager he's a bit of a pete tong and should we ever make it back to the prem again would no doubt be a disaster. Also has managed the dogheads for a few years now.

Actually, it proves none of these things. Yet. He was the best of a bad bunch for a club that is completely crippled financially. I wish him well, but he hasn't succeeded by simply getting the appointment. The Championship is going to be a very difficult league next year (as it is every year). Well if it dosnt prove the first 3 things I wrote, the title of this thread is a little missleading I would suggest. It doesn't prove that B'ham hold him in high esteem at all, do you honestly think they would appoint him if they weren't in crisis mode? Absolutely no chance. As has already been said, he is the best they could have hoped for, which says more about the state they are in than it does about LC's managerial 'ability'

The time to judge him is when he leaves not when he is appointed.
To be fair to him it takes some balls to jump straight back in at the deep end especially with Brum in the state that they are at present.
Does not look like a good move for either party for me. Lest we forget that we all know nothing about football though :nodding:

Just had a message from a Villa supporting mate. He thinks it's the best possible appointment under the circumstances too.

It's well known that the Town players' minds were being controlled on a subconscious level by the Geordie genius from the moment he was sacked. Everything that happened in the play-offs, that was all down to Lee Clark.

Threatening 5 year old girls doesnt give you a big rep in the hooligan stakes. However I have met many decent Brum fans in the past - we played eath other a lot in the early 90s Whats your local football reporter like? Clark doesnt seem to like being asked questions (apart from when on national TV), and used to constantly try to demean the radio Leeds reporter in the post match interview. Its for this reason I started to dislike the guy (Clark that is- not Oggy, top man)?

He'll mainly be dealing with Colin Tattum our local papers Blues correspondent. Not really one for an arguement, they'll get along fine. Then there's Tom Ross who does the radio and he arse licks anyone in charge of the Midlands football clubs. He was the only man defending the ginger scottish manager when Villa were failing miserably. As for the "Threatening 5 year old girls doesnt give you a big rep in the hooligan stakes." Stop nit-picking and why was there even a need to bring it up? You'll also meet many decent brummies again this season I just hope your ground isn't one of these generic bores with burger kings instead of pubs.

Don't worry, its only a ten minute walk to the town centre and Huddersfield has plenty of good real ale pubs. Whats going on with your finances? Surely players such as Zigic will be on a massive salary? Clark has only been in a job before where he has had free reign to sign and let go whoever he wants so it will be a bit different for him.
