Totally flatters to deceive.
I think this season he has scored one goal and had ONE assist, and today was a perfect example of why he is getting reputedly a lot of money for absolutely nothing. Started off as he often does looking like a world beater (although there was NO end product) and then faded until he was more or less invisible for the second half.
In a game that was crucial I cannot remember one cross, shot or worthwhile pass that caused any problems to the opposition and this has unfortunately been typical of his season - I'm only just getting over my frustration at his Bolton performance. When we signed him the Palace fans warned us that he doesn't actually DO anything, and they were apparently right.
I used to think that the Brandons and Hollands were masters of the no end product but young Sean runs them close. Still, at least he's agreed to try and get fit - I think.

The phrase flatters to deceive certainly sprang to my mind when watching him today.Appears to have plenty going for him but produces little in terms of goals or creating clear cut opportunities.Hope he can prove the Palace fans wrong.

Not shown enough for a player reportedly on £14k per week. Needs to show more end product as many mention. Many times he's beaten a man then for nothing to happen. He's got the pace we were crying out for but then again so did David Beresford....

Very strong and tricky, but agree he needs more end product.

He's young. Give him a chance. Better than Ward. Much more skill.

Ward has similar attributes to Scannell in terms of greed and lack of awareness but lacks Scannell's trickery. To be fair to Ward though he's a lot better crosser of the ball than Scannell.

totally agree with the flatters to decieve but hes the best we have.
I think the lad could run around all day with the ball at his feet, unfortuantly as soon as he gets into the last 3rd there is rarely an end product!
Oh for an Pilkington right now!

Been waching Town since 1967 and I believe him to be the worst player we have ever signed on a pound for pound basis and God have we signed some crap for decent money especially under the Turnip. When you look at what other clubs got for less money Palace must be laughing. We would be lucky to off load him for 30 bob and a scotch egg now. 1 goal, 1 assist for all that money speaks volumes.

He had a shot well saved by the keeper at the start of the 2nd and totally dominated the blonde left back.

On a pound for pound basis I think Ward is up there with our worst ever signings.

Dont want to say "i told you so" but.... Poor at defending, does not look up and his speed is only off the mark. 10 metres later and he is done. £5 million valuation by SG. Tells you all you need to know about Graysons knowledge of football.

Tells you all you need to know about Graysons knowledge of football. If we go down Grayson has a lot to answer for. Crap signings, no morale and poor tactical. It's a real difficult job for robins and if he does keep us up, with this bunch of overpaid prima donnas it will be a hell of an achievement. Heard yesterday from someone that knows hunt that none of the players like robins. Good, im glad they don't, he has probably told them some home truths. its about time they realised they are part of the problem, and no matter if we stay up or go down there will be a mass clear out. I have no doubt we will have some players who want to play for the shirt, not the over inflated pay packets!

I said pound for pound. I think for the money we had a right to expect much more. George Donis is right in there so it might bbe close run thing but his Scannells stats tells me we could have played a kid there and got more out of him. Pity there are no stats for the number of times he's stood scrathccing his arse when we don't have possession as he could be on a winner
