Do you follow a lot of people? Just wondering if they are getting buried amongst the others. I follow him but to see everything he posts I have to do a search for reluctantnicko and then look through it for anything Town related. Could be different depending on whether you use iOS, Android or the desktop version of Twitter though. Android. .there is a padlock next to it the only one I follow that has... Think it's cos he just replies to people so they don't appear on the main feed. I have to click his profile to view them too.

Perhaps they are going to unveil tomorrow at half time or something I hope they announce it over the weekend, this Butterfield / Clayton saga has gone on way too long. I do like how when Town are bringing someone in they keep it as quiet as possible, our transfers out though always seem to leak, and as a result drag on forever.

So from lacking leadership last year we go out and sign Peltier, Coady and Butterfield.
Peltier and Butterfield former captains of their clubs and Coady was captain througout the Liverpool and England youth teams. Sounds like the club delivered bang on brief so far.

Only trouble is. You need the big characters to get on.... If not you need a captain that brings them together for the cause

Hmmm, I don't see we've done this yet considering we've let go of two seasoned leaders in the squad in Clarke and Southern. Still some way to go if we're looking to increase leadership qualities based on what we had last year.

I suppose my question to that point would be how many games did those two players play between them ?

Yes fair point and I agree with that in terms of the team (although Clarke was still involved in c. 30) But in the squad, leadership isn't just 90 minutes on a Saturday its how you carry yourself, set standards, work in training, eat well, take responsibility etc.

Even Murphy had games where he captained both Scunny and Coventry

You obviously haven't played sport at semi professional or professional level. Just like at work you need direction from a director (MR) and a manager (LP) if everyone is chipping in, you need to be an extremely good man manager to make it work. Not necessarily a leader.

A friend of mine also thinks it's a done deal . Great signing although he suggests 800 k paid for butterfield. In a separate deal and he will be unveiled tomorrow . Clayton sold for an initial 1.5 plus add ons . Hardly having there pants down IMHO , we sold our best player for 700k in reality .

If that's the case it is Clayton for Butterfield + 700k Very good deal to say he was in the last year of his contract

If that's the case we traded Clayton with 1 year on his contract for £700k + Butterfield with 3 years (?) on his contract. If we can keep Butterfield fit (far from certain with our injury record) then that's an excellent deal.

Well with your theory....Majewski- Coady- Butterfield, all paid for with a player out of contract next summer = great business to me!

Only trouble is. You need the big characters to get on.... If not you need a captain that brings them together for the cause Players aren't selected as captain just for being a 'big character', it's to elevate the positive effect they're already having on the team. I would say having a team full of players that have been deemed appropriate for the role would only be a good thing. It may be the difference between holding on to a 1-0 lead at Elland road or losing 5-1. Not to mention the effect Coady will have on the u18's with his pedegree. If I was Bryan Glover (head of Academy Recruitment) I'd have Coady meeting all potential newcomers.
