You might be right, but I'm at a loss to where you get your evidence from that he's better. Anyone could do what Lennon did atCeltic so he's proved nothing to anyone who watches from a far. Powell won the championship in a competitive league where theirs more than one team who can win it and are not odds on before the seasons even started. There seems to be some kind of misconception that if your manager at Celtic or Rangers all you have to do is turn up and let the players go out and it all takes care of itself. The players still need to be coached, motivated and managed on tactics. If it's so easy at Celtic why is that guy Daeli struggling so badly in 6th place having just lost at home to Hamilton? I didn't say all you have to do is turn up, but Celtic will always be clear favourites when Rangers aren't in the league, unlike Charlton or any other English club in their respective division. I seem to remember Town were the favourites for the league one title the season Charlton stormed league one.

Why? Because he won the league with Celtic. Give me Powell over him any day. No, because he's a good manager, probably a better manager than Powell. We'll see how he goes at Bolton eh? Might be. Might not be. Time will tell i suppose on how good Lennon is. Im reasonably confident Powell would have won a trophy room full of pots if he'd been manager at parkhead too. Theres a world of difference between managing a club who are massive compared to your rivals with mountains more resources available, and managing Bolton- an average sized debt ridden carcass. be interesting to see how he does.

Get the impression the Town job might've been his but he thought he could get a bigger (or at least better off) club if he held out a bit. To be fair I think most people would've thought the same. Wonder if he's regretting that now given he's had to settle for a not particularly large club in a huge amount of debt.
Also just read that Nigel Worthington has left York, who was it who kept bizarrely banging on that we should appoint him?

Arterrier, I'll have £20 on with you that Celtic win the league. You could put me in charge of Celtic and I'd win the division hands down without Rangers to compete with. Yes Celtic have struggled so far but we're only in October, once the injuries and suspensions set in Celtic will come into their own as the other clubs have not got as much depth in their squad as Celtic have. Look at the champions of Scotland over the years and you've got to go back quite a few years to find a name on the list that's not Rangers or Celtic.

www.soccerstats.com/formtable.asp?league=england2We were bottom when he arrived. Apart from about 13 people with an allegiance to Rangers every Bolton fan would say Lennon has been a brilliant appointment and is doing a great job. That is based on results on the pitch and everything he has done round the club since he got here, not 90 minutes of the worse performance since he turned up.

A town fan posted a freeze frame on FB of Heskey
He was a yard in front as it was played.
Idiot Lennon.

Said it before but I think he would've done a very good job here. He doesn't bother me particularly but even if he did I don't see that it matters much, tossers tend to become your tosser while they're at your club. Warnock is a good example, most people hate him but he's still popular here.
Happy enough with Powell so far though, he was my second choice of those mentioned.
