Where's the Lee Clark option?
I'll bet he applies.

at this moment in time and taking into consideration that we have a wealth of talent coming through but not just yet, Warnock on a short term contract if he wants it. Give him a challenge in the knowledge that he really isn't that interested in a long term job.

Looks like Ross wilson has been on to give Pressley his one vote..... For what reason has Pressley been made favourite for the job and i ask this question only because the bookies seem to know something that most of us dont.

There's some names on that list who I think could really turn things around here. And then there are names that fill me with utter terror.
I voted for Mackay, but unless he's desperate for work I think he'd most likely consider us to be a step backwards.
I'd rather we kept Robins that entertain the likes of Pressley and Laws.
Realistically, I'd be happy with McDermott. He's a good manager with plenty of recent experience in this division.

Most of them are not going to come to Town, Steven Pressley maybe.....and what is it about Coventry managers? . The only reason arterrier to bring in Pressley would be Ross Wilson. The guy has a worse track record than Robbins, and would IMO show everyone in the Town we really don't have any ambition and clearly would not want to move forward. Time to show we mean business, and try get the floating fans back on board, instead if driving more away with such a appointment!

My first choice would be Lennon. It would be a bit of a risk as he's only managed Celtic but he's played down here and listening to him on Sunday seems to know a lot about the Championship. He also seems very eager and I think he'll have been gearing himself up for a Championship job. He'd be fully committed and most importantly I think he could get the best out of the players we have and wouldn't stand for complacency, something that personally I think is our biggest problem.
I would also be happy with Mackay or Hughton. Both proven in the Championship. I don't actually think McDermott is a bad manager but I wouldn't want him as most Town fans wouldn't want him due to the Leeds connection and that would filter through the stands and quickly on to the pitch if things weren't going well.
I'd be very disappointed if it was Pressley or McNamara I just couldn't see the reasoning, the rest I don't think there's much chance of.

If what Nixon says is true (which in all honesty is usually pretty accurate) and Lennon has applied it's a no brainer for me.

Does anyboby on this site think it possible that we could attract the likes of Mackay and Lennon to the club and i only ask this question simply because both have potential to be premier league managers if a vacancy arose We can attract Lennon, because I have seen a picture of him at the stadium.

The names are all a rehash in the main of the last two appointments. We need an inspiring choice this time, and Deano has to get this one right. OK each manager he has appointed has moved the club forward in terms of the league but we need a stable choice now, someone to really make the use of the squad and shift the shite out.
We have spent too much too often on utter wank squad men, who come with reputations of being something special and then turn out to be unpolishable turds. Lennon for me to strike some fear into these idle numpties, as I feel MacKay is above us currently. Hughton and Powell would be OK cheaper options, but Pressley coming in, sorry but at that stage I'd give up and resign us to League One.

Owen Coyle was in the running before Robins came in but pulled out once he heard he had to attend an interview.

Malky Mackay would be great but probably waiting for the first premiership casualty, i.e West Ham or to Norwich if they have a bad start, that's about as low as he'll drop. However I think Lennon would come and would be a great appointment, he has to prove himself and has set his sights on taking a Championship club to the Premiership.
On Owen Coyle, he never applies, he expects to be contacted, said it on 5 live yesterday. Deano took a dislike to his attitude when recruiting Robins. His back catalogue has a few duffers now aswell.

Lennon ticks all the boxes for me. I also think this appointment would show the rest of the division we aren't just here to make the numbers up and would attract a fair few 'floating' fans back. It'd certainly be an appointment that would excite, unlike an appointment of Pressley or McNamara! Time to push the boat out a bit Mr Hoyle it'll pay in the long run.

Not sure why so many people would want Neil Lennon. To me he's unproven, I'd imagine every poster on here could have led Celtic to the title over the last few years. Fair play to him for leaving that and seeking a challenge but who knows if he's actually got what it takes to be a decent manager.
I can see why Mackay interests so many people but I'd have thought he'd be a front runner for the next low end Prem or high end Champ role that becomes available and would be happy to wait for it rather than panic and join us.
Personally I'd go for Chris Hughton, done a really good job with two teams in this division. When at Birmingham he had to run the team on a shoestring and still worked wonders almost getting them promoted, compare that to how Clark fared in a similar situation there.

I guarantee Norwich won't be relegated from the Premiership this year. You (& anyone else for that matter) can have 10000/1 on with me if you think that'll happen

What did Mackay do in the Prem that people think is so good?
He got Cardiff promoted with a huge budget - biggest in the league that year.
So no idea why a low hanging Prem club would take him on.
He needs to reinvent himself and show Cardiff getting promoted was based on money alone. I also doubt he'd get any Prem job.
I would think Huddersfield is an ideal spot to reinvent himself.
