I think the most impressive part of this whole thing is that I haven't seen Kluivert misspelt once, which is pretty good going to say how often we had Robins/Robbins and Clark/Clarke. Kluivert is actually shortened from Van Der Mor De Klueless for PR reasons. He would be great publicity for the club but a big gamble given his lack of solo experience ... so he would need a steady right hand man.

just by being linked with the job it's sure to raise the bar and quality of applicants surely?

Could be a disaster....could be a magical whirlwind that sees PATRICK KLUIVERT become a huddersfield town legend Not saying he would be my first choice, but he'd come a lot higher than most names linked. Worst that could happen? We get relegated and we're back competing at the top of L1 with talented youngsters coming through the academy under the tutelage of someone who, experienced manager or not, probably has more football knowledge in his left nut than most managers in the football league. best that could happen? We play great attacking football, improve the academy setup and have a direct link to talented dutch kids, good loans, bigger crowds, more revenue, more chance of investment Coached at AZ, managed FC twente's youth team, worked under van gaal (one of the most universally rated coaches in the business, renowned for his forward thinking approach, great football and youth development) for the dutch national team. Dont get me wrong, a safe choice would be the sensible option, but in a years time when we're being served up boring football under a boring manager and the john smith's is like a morgue...but it will be alright because we're still in the championship? Football is all about excitement.. and it would certainly be exciting. Not saying i'd want us to go down, but i've found the chmpionship quite boring so far to be honest. Wouldnt mind a bit of risk if it sparked a bit of life into the club!! Think it would be very important to keep the backroom staff who know the championship though for the balance. edit: i should add, im very skeptical as to whether it will happen, mind.

My gut feeling when I heard Kluivert rumours was 'not experienced enough at this level'. But then, after thinking about it, someone experienced at this level is very likely to be a safe, unadventurous bet, and although they might get us playing stable football, are they going to be exciting? I agree with you, I'm not fussed for lingering in the bottom half of the Championship watching football under Tony Mowbray. Let's do something like Watford did with Zola. I'd be happy if we took the risk on this. There's a few names knocking about and I'm leaning towards those with a bigger name or charisma- Kluivert, Lennon etc.

Just said on Talksport sports news that he does NOT want the job, despite his agent saying to the contrary.
The bubble has popped. I am a broken man.

His input might have just been setting up a few sprinting exercises to get the warmed up and being there to talk to players in a 'been there- worn the t-shirt' way that van gall can't, having never been a top player. You're having a shocker here Slapps. Michael Owen Kluivert was number 2 for the team that just finished 3rd in the world. Would you be as disingenuous towards Gary Neville, for example? Not denying there would be an element of gamble to the appointment but that goes for whoever gets the job.

how much would it cost the club? Surely he wouldn't come cheap?
Now lets think a minute.
Alex McLish Tony Mowbray That uninteresting Elvis impersonator from cov. Neil Warnock Billy Davis Patrick Kluivert Phil Neville Nicky Butt
A couple of years ago we'd have been delighted to be linked with most of those (bar Elvis) One thing with Clive Ert is it would be interesting.
What does Supernovak think?

Just been on talk sport news bulletin Kluivert says he does not want the Huddersfield job despite comments coming from his agent. Don't shoot the messenger. That's what it said. Roughly translated: Dean told him to fcuk off, read the job description and try again later when he's achieved something as a No.1

Not disagreeing with what you say 3Pipe, but why would Jimmy being in the USA make him ITK about Kluivert having an interview at Town?

Not disagreeing with what you say 3Pipe, but why would Jimmy being in the USA make him ITK about Kluivert having an interview at Town? In my mind Sio, they undoubtedly bumped into each other at the airport and shared a double frappachino whilst discussing the merits of our great club and our future return to the top flight.

He doesnt have the tried and trusted Championship experience in his locker that Dean Hoyle didnt demand, therefore its a no from me. As such, Andy Ritchie must surely go to the top of the list? Did he actually say "tried and trusted manager" though? He's certainly been there and done it as both a player & coach (not in the Championship mind). INDEED !!!!!! This was a tongue in cheek comment. Refer to page 3/4/5 of this thread for further info!
