If we get Kluivert it'll go totally against what Dean said he wanted blah blah blah but wait a minute the DATM no nothings conveniently forget this as he's a big name, the fact that he's never managed anyone doesn't matter because it's Kluivert. In what way would appointing Kluivert go against what Dean said he wanted. EVERYTHING he said about the next manager is written in the post a few above. “We’re looking for someone who has ‘done it’. We want a leader and a motivator, we want someone now who can lead and motivate them.” We want somebody tried and tested, but I’m not going to say which division they will come from. We want somebody who is a leader of men; somebody who can motivate and inspire with tactical nous and a good footballing style of play. “It will be an external appointment. We’ll consider all the options.
ALL of this could apply to Kluivert. He's got 4 years coaching experience. There's a reason why he was wanted as assistant at Manchester Utd. He joins the growing list of men who fit the bill.

You're deluded if you think coaching for 4 yrs is "done it". There maybe a reason why he was wanted as Man Utds No 2, Brian Kidd was also a No2 there. Now i know you lot on here take what Hoyle says as gospel but please stop to trying to kiss his arse even more by trying to insinuate that by appointing PK is not going against what he's said. Even my limited intelligence would be insulted by that. Deluded.

Reckon Mowbray aswell. Kluivert is very unrealistic tbh, he'll no doubt get his management chance at some point, unlikely to be with us though.

But thats not what Dean is saying. Could winning 3 Dutch titles, a Spanish title, a Champions League medal, and being in the FIFA 100 as a player, ALONG with being coach at FC Twente, and assistant for the Netherlands, be classed as "done it"? I think it could. Note...personally I wouldn't want him, we've gone the route of having someone with no experience of front line club management before and it didn't really turn out well in the end (although certainly went well for 12 months or so). All I'm saying is, Deans comments don't rule him out.

Another thing that Dean said was the following below. And moaners reaction on here kind of highlights it.
Just because he said certain words in the interview, it doesn't mean that its the ten commandments and everything is abided to 100% with no deviation. Its just the thoughts he had, put across in the moment he was asked the questions. Thats all. It's just a general theme for how the new manager will be appointed. I'm pretty sure that some names will apply who don't fit into the strict definition of what has been said, but that won't necessarily rule them out. I'd hope that Dean, Nigel and Ross go into this with an open mind.
***
When asked what his aim for the 2014/15 season was, Dean gave a measured reply:
“This is an interesting one. Like in life, I’ve always taken the approach at the football club that honesty is the best policy – I’ve told people my views and where we want to go.
“But when things don’t go quite right, the vocal minority throw it back at you: ‘you said that and this’. We’re not all perfect and we do make mistakes.
“What I would say is we want to finish as high as possible and we don’t want to be around the bottom (of the table).
“That’s my view. I’m not prepared to say where we want to finish, although I know in my head. If I say we want to finish 1st, 15th or 20th, I’m coming to realise very quickly that people will hold it against me.
“I want to be as open and honest with fans as possible, but actually it’s backfiring a little bit. Maybe we’ll have a little bit of a different approach for the foreseeable future.”

Wasn't Kluivert always rumoured to be a bit of a playboy and a bit of a prima donna? Would be a bit of a coup but seems like a very risky move to me, not sure he's much of a leader and don't think he's got the stomach for a fight.

I would not be happy with Mowbray as coach, but I would be happy to let him drive the coach.

So what you're saying it's a load of bullshit & he just said what he said to appease the vocal minority & has know intention of doing what he said but then if people take it the wrong way he allus turn round & say he didn't mean it that way. When he said people would twist what he said, how right he was. You lot just twist it for you're own ends.

What exactly is this guys managerial record? Since when did being a good player guarantee managerial success ? No ta youth Team coach at FC Twente, assistant coach of Dutch national side (I think they have been successful ;o) Mates with Van Gaal, played in EPL for nufc. On downside no English club managerial experience. But his CV sounds better than LC before he was appointed at Town NO EXPERIENCE IN OUR GAME SO A NON STARTER FOR ME STILL THINK IT WILL BE ONE OF THREE. Powell Mowbray or Hughton. Coyle as dark horse.
