Sounded like a slightly different version being sung last night. Was it Whooooah, Huddersfield Town, we'll support you, ever more.? I was singing it but can't remember what we were singing. Aye, that sounds about right! When a few more joined in it sounded really good, especially being repeated over and over. There you go devout NSL'ers, my mission, should you choose to accept it, is to decide on a final version (would probably help if one of us could remember what was actually being sung!) and get it going next home game. Think it has potential that one.

To general negativity of town fans is really getting on my nerves at the moment. I sometimes think that some people secretly want us to fail. I am a fan of the NSL and want to see it work. I've been switching from my normal seat in the 'singing section' to the FML this season to get the full experience. Personally, I think the FML is crying out for a roof over it. It really could make all the difference and improve the whole atmosphere massively. A roof is an expensive solution to a simple problem - not enough people sing. Once we have remedied that , the only time the roof will be an issue is when it's pissing it down, and that won't be a problem as I've got a raincoat. You are correct about that! However, better acoustics can make a huge difference. For example, I remember at Bristol city a few years ago there were about 300 town fans, but the good acoustics in the stand made it sound very echoey and improved things massively. When we took 4000 to MK Dons in the play offs, it was hard to get the noise levels up due to the open nature of the stand. This is the problem with the FML.

Very good last night, especially as the match wasn't great. Exactly what the NSL should be all about IMO. To the left of the Kilner it isn't loud at all but we could see and most of the time hear you having fun/supporting the team.
The singing section did alright as well given that their number have thinned quite a bit.

We definitely took on board the negative comments from last Sat and tried to improve things yesterday. Sounds like we did an OK job. Numbers were very low across the ground so hopefully we can get 1000+ in there and make more noise. I thought we did well last night considering there were only about 4-500.

Great effort last night I arrived 5minutes after kick off and walking down outside behind the south stand I could hear the NSL above everything else brilliant effort let's get back in there against Millwall and step it up another level, WE'LL SING TO THE END, WE'LL SING TO THE END, WE'RE NORTH STAND LOYAL, WE'LL SING TO THE END

I should also add that I came down alone but I was stood next to a right nice fella and had a good laugh at half time with a couple of lads watching the queue police!!! All in all a brilliant match day experience and I for one will be there every time and would recommend it to anyone.

The fans in Sweden sing to each stand...and they reply in turn. This might be a good one for the NSL and the Kilner. The fans sing "andra sidan ar ni klara?" and they reply "Ja gemensamt fattas bara". It translate to "the other side are you ready/clear" and they reply "yes, but only together" or something close to that.
Any ideas?

i went in last night and was pleasantly surprised both with the non stop singing first half and the view. my only problem was the drummer , he is meant to accompany the noise not be the only noise. he needs to tone it down a bit as he drowns out the singing and the blocks to the side just hear the drum. either tone it down or stick it up his arse.

Steady on mate. Drew is very good, it's a fine art and it will take time for all of us to be in sync with one another. Onwards and upwards.

Wasn't easy for Drew last night as the folk starting the songs had positioned themselves further forward, which makes it difficult for the drummer as he was trying to keep time with the songs, rather than the other way round.

its all a matter of opinions isn,t it, i thought he drowned out the singing , you may think he,s very good. i,m giving you an opinion from only one block away. the drummer im assuming was inbetween the cental blocks and myself. back row to the right of the goals all i heard was the drummer.

I'd have the drummer at the front, with crowd facing capos encouraging the singing and flag waving. Plus the drum would annoy the shit out of the oppo goalkeeper. We'll try alsorts until we get it right though, so please keep telling us if there's something that you think can be improved upon, it's the only way we can make the NSL better and better.

spot on pal, it was an observation that i wanted to share, small changes can sometimes make a big difference. i have been in 3 different stands already this year but will now be staying in the north stand. try the drummer at the front, it would be interesting to get a few opinions from north upper on wether the drummer drowned out the songs.

I made a couple of hopefully constructive points after Saturday's match, but last night (with half the numbers) you were infinitely better. Really good support throughout and audible. Helped me to get through the fayre on the pitch. Sat could well have been the watershed.

It needs to be challenged by the fans so that everyone has a better match day atmosphere. 5 games is not a test, 26 is.

One disappointment was the fact the camera never swung to the crowd once. Feeble.

One disappointment was the fact the camera never swung to the crowd once. Feeble. I'll have a word with the camera man next week...although I think his background is from providing the match DVDs for the club to use to refer to so its a different target. Plus, he supports Bolton. When I saw him tonight (at 5 a side), he did seem quite surprised that his footage was available on a live stream for me to see. He mentioned there is "some box, possibly to do with Sky" which everything feeds into now, so someone is possibly intercepting that. I wonder if this is all to do with the new connected stadiums project we heard of a few weeks back where all teams would have the ability to broadcast games to the away club.

Sky make a LOT of money syndicating their content out to other providers worldwide, makes sense theyd also recoup a bit domestically.
