At best he jumped on a girl another man hade just boned whilst his mates filmed him. Not sure my lass would be too forgiving....but I don't earn a footballer's wages and she isn't a brain dead twat.

The other female 'victim' in this case that seems to be ignored is his girlfriend - and she seems to believe him. Whatever happened she's clearly got the morals of an alley cat so thats not the best argument. She aint a victim.

How can you question her morals, she knows him way better than anyone else I would say & she is most certainly a victim in all of this...or doesn't she count cos she's his girlfriend??

Sheff Utd have allowed him to train with them so that
A) they can test the public backlash B) see if he can still play
Rather than having one big outcry they will water down the issue by dragging it out.
I very much doubt Dean Hoyle would have dealt with the issue in the same way but would be interested to hear his thoughts on it.
As I've posted above the legislative change would be a change in the fields where crbs are required. The prospect of harm not being one of physical/personal but psychological/Social harm to young people and victims of rape/serious assault.
The crb programme was changed significantly in it's scope and implementation after the Huntley murders and rightly so.
I actually think there's a separate case for Evans not to be put back in the celebrity spotlight that pro football inevitably brings. This is because the opportunity for repeat offending is significantly increased in his case, especially since he believes he has done nothing wrong. He has no understanding of what constitutes mutual consent sex.
I hope it doesn't take for someone like Evans to rape another teenager in order for the law to be changed. Sadly that is the sort of eventuality that often is required before significant changes are made.

Why do tv interviews and magazine interview and sit with him in that cringeworthy video? I do not understand her motivations at all

Now just to be clear on this issue, I do not condone this type of crime at all.
I just think that it's not as cut & dried as most people on here think it is.
We all know the finer details of the court case, if not they are available on line.
I personally have serious doubts about his conviction based on the evidence I have read as well as also being aware of the North Western Crown Prosecution Service's remit in tackling low conviction rates for sex crimes.
I also think that CE is a victim of these times that we now live in after the Savile expose & the ongoing news on child abuse cases that have been shown to have been covered up going back years & years.
How would any of you feel if you had a mate or family member jailed for rape knowing that he didn't do it??? And would you continually protest their innocence?? Again, too bloody right I would
The false claims of a so called victim are, in my eyes, as bad as the alleged crime itself.

Seriously yeah - maybe i am a chump or just not that much of a push over after all but if my bloke had been with a lass that had just had sex with his mate, had it filmed and jumped out of a fire escape i wouldnt speak to him ever ever again never mind marry him, whether the sex was consensual or not

Evans is a rapist and a crass one at that. No apology, his family then victimises the young girl in question, disgusting.

It is rape if there is no consent. Evans clearly believed he was entitled to shag her because his mate did, even before he had met her. He also believed that any girl in the nightclub would want him even though he failed to find one. Arrogant and delusional. The jury didn't believe there was consent and neither do I.

No apology and the family releasing the victims name. It's a disgrace

And how do you know she said yes and then couldn't remember. Unreliable witness or not it was the video evidence that got Evans convicted. 3 appeals have failed. He's a rapist.
I'd have no issue with him returning to football if he had apologised to the victim, if his family hadn't attacked the girl and broke the law on anonymity. But he has never apologised, his family further ruined a young girl's life and he shouldn't be able to walk back into a influential position due to that.

No apology and the family releasing the victims name. It's a disgrace Totally agreed, taking the "should he play again" issue to one side, he raped her and is a rapist. Thats not my opinion but a fact as confirmed by a conviction and time served in prison. Given the failed appeals despite his very skilled legal team it is fair to say he is guilty. If people are using the logic that he has lodged an appeal to get the conviction quashed as doubt to his legally proven guilt they are fools as by that logic pretty much every prisoner is innocent!!! I have no knowledge of any tweets or facebook stuff about who said what but it is irrelevant as all that matters is that he is a rapist. Too often in rape and sexual assault cases the victims suffer in many many ways for the rest of their lives and for me I care more about that then I do about a convicted rapist feeling its unfair his career is on hold upon release. If any club wants to hire him thats his business but if it were Town it would seriously make me consider not getting a season ticket next year. Footballers are role models and increasingly part of a clubs community connections and so I think its probably right that someone who wouldnt pass a CRB check to work with children or vulnerable adults wouldnt be suitable. Look at how our lads are always at a Town Foundation do or soccer skills course. This is part of their job nowadays and as such I think the argument that they are somehow not a role model is false. In terms of Ched Evan's girlfriend she is entitled to believe what she wants as there are lovers of prisoners throughout history that are certain their partner is innocent, regardless of any facts to the contrary. The fact her dad is paying a private investigator to try and further undermine the victim in any appeal for me is disgusting. When Ched Evans admits he is a rapist and tries to rehabilitate for his crimes then I would support the view it wouldnt be unfair for a club to give him a go. However it looks like thats never going to happen.

More rubbish spouted on this thread that is quoted as fact. If you took time to read up on it before posting you would see the recordings were of such poor quality they offered very little help to prosecution or defence and had sod all to do with his conviction. Some utter fabrications have been posted on here.

I certainly don't think that Evans girlfriend is a victim, I can understand she believe's him regards the rape but there's no doubts about him having sex with a drunken girl, and does she believe its the first time he's played away ? she's either the most understanding woman on the planet or stupid and naive, either way definitely not a victim.

Find it quite amusing that everyone uses the law of the land as the reason why he is definitely a rapist (i.e, he was found guilty so 100% did it), but when the laws of the same land is applied to his right to be a pro footballer it is instantly dismissed. You can't have it both ways.
I know there is the saying "rape is rape" but I don't think you can really say that, by which I mean if Ched Evans was skulking the streets searching for a victim, pulled them down an alley at knifepoint, raped them, and all of this was caught on CCTV then we wouldn't be having this discussion, no one would touch him.

If she's too drunk to remember then she is drunk enough not to be legally able to give consent. So it is statutory rape. Which is why he is guilty.
Case closed.
