Surprised he lasted this long. Said when we appointed him he wouldn't succeed as he was too closely linked to the Newcastle side of the 90's that bottled it and it proved that his teams when push came to shove bottled it.

if you take over a team that still pays a player 70k a week for a further two years outside the premier league and that player is pretty useless, then after looking at the crowds and the financial position of the club you take it on, you are either;
1. very confident in your own ability.
2. very desperate to remain in a managers position.
3. spent too much when you were playing.
4. have a need for the aggro and high blood pressure.
5. daft as a brush.
i'd go for 1 and 5 for clark.
A confidence in his own abilities as a manager, without anything much to back it up. Daft as a brush because he surrounds himself with staff who continued to fail and he uses 'footballspeak' because he is too daft to realise we know its 'bullshit'..

I said when Clark went to B'ham that I didn't think it was the right move for him at that time but it was seen as a 'big job' so naturally had some pulling power for any out of work manager. He could go elsewhere, suddenly click and turn it round or become another of the nearly men lost in football wilderness for long periods.

Looking at the last post & the behind the scenes at Brum I do not think going there is right for any manager who seriously wants to take their career forward. Same with Blackpool (they will replace their manager soon).

if Zigic had played his part in lots more games they may well not have been grasping at lifelines on the last day. Zigic failed for most of a 46 game season whilst being paid fortunes for this division and his seriously limited ability which appeared to be just his 'height'...?
its never about one game, unless thats the only game you play in..

Fancy leaving Rhodes on't bench in a play-off final, how bizarre He was trying to confuse them. Rhodes was our secret weapon he forgot to play.

I don't think anyone's seriously expecting Blackpool to stay up so you could see it as a no pressure job. Could he get them back up from league 1 next season though? didn't quite make it with town and we gave him a bigger budget than Oysten will cough up.

It'd be another poor choice in my opinion for Clarky. He'll no doubt be desperate to get back in to it and on the face of it getting another Championship might seem like a good idea, problem is they'll go down this year and won't have much money next year. He'll be back looking like he hates everyone and everything in no time if he goes there.

Has an intimate knowledge of the league and the one below, should they drop. Will be cheap having just been sacked and has a ready-made onfield/onside leader in Peter Clarke. All fits. There are worse marriages than this.

who would touch that job? they look doomed already. A bloke who loves being involved, who's scared he might not get another job for quite a while and who knows he's running out of options having already been sacked twice?
