I'd love him to get involved in the academy, as I wouldn't want us to have to sack him at any stage.

Nice to start thinking of players as fellow human beings. Top fella, would have been a good influence to have him still round the place.
I think he will cut it as a manager too.

Not sure why but I just really dont see him making it as decent a manager. Would love to be proved wrong as he has the character and would love him here as manager. Personally see him as more likely the next mark lillis type than next jacko - which would be great.
Having listened to the full interview I absolutely love the bloke...goosebumps at some of the moments mentioned. Bit saddened that there seems to be a hint of resentment in the way in which he was let go - absolutely the right decision and you have to be cruel in football but maybe the club could have shown him a bit more respect than he feels he got?
Not one of the very best, but easily one of my favourite ever players

Caught 40 mins and will listen to the pod cast later, came across superbly and rightly deserved THE best ovation a returning player has received on his recent visit with Blackpool. Expect he'll be slightly peeved his wages have plummeted 70% or more since 30 June.

I'll listen later too
Regarding him being a future manager....did anyone notice how he stood in the centre circle for Blkpool after they went 3-0 down - he reorganised the team, without reference to the bench, then when he had everyone where he wanted, he looked over at the bench where they just nodded their approval
Then he let them kick off
That's a bloke with the bottle and nous to be a manager in my view
FIGO

He was a decent player for us on his day. Could be found wanting against pace, but nobody could doubt his commitment to the cause.

He'd adapt like any manager would. I don't get what point you're trying to make TBH.

True leader UTT I also remember his head going down and him becoming mute as soon as anything went against us, as we threw lead after lead away under his captaincy. Even more recently at Bolton season before last we conceded due to a mistake of his and his head went completely, typical PC hands on hips staring at the ground stance. JV ran around everyone to rally them while his captain stood there motionless and barely opened his mouth again for the last half hour. Leader, PAH!

Come on now Cas, we know your still incredulous at his inclusion in 'legends' poll but look at all the posts on here to see his popularity amongst the fans, we all know he wasn't the best centre back ever but he was competent enough although just not at this level. Clarke is to you what Mark Robins is to me!!!

One sweeping generalisation and then one perceived example. He may not have been the best player (especially at Championship level) but Clarke is the best leader of men you'll have seen play for Huddersfield Town, I'd wager. You're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else, I suppose. But you're wrong. Very wrong.
