Will home fans who go in the away end get ejected as well. Should be a great atmosphere but I just have this feeling that the heavy handed police & steward brigade will be up for it as well.

Superb little ground is the New York Stadium. Steeply-raked seating makes you feel right on top of the action. If Town put on a performance the atmosphere should be electric.

I have always understood that it is 15% that the club get as a commission - that came from the club at a supporters Q and A. That is the thick end of £ 10,000 in commission for the Rotherham game. Not bad for something we do not make money out of. You have always understood wrong. Town only get either 50p or £1 per away ticket (I can't remember which of the two). I agree with Andy E that it should be £1 per transaction and not per ticket and that it is another common, modern day rip-off that most peole just meekly accept. The same goes for service charges on tickets bought for concerts and events. If you pay by credit card for the tickets and say order 4 @ £23 it will cost Town a smidgeon either side of 2% of the order. So that's £1.84, add postage c£0.60, printing, envelope, contribution to staff costs, VAT of £0.17 for each £1 charged, there ain't a lot left going in the club slush fund is there ?

Sounds like a military operation! Got no chance of getting tickets in the home ends lol I never really understand this address checking etc. Its a football team, not a religious enclave. Someone turns up who says they aren't on the database cos they've always paid cash on the door (as I'm sure its been possible to do at every Rotherham game theres ever been prior to this season), or they fancy it as their first ever game, or their mate has always bought tickets but they're dead. If their utility bill says they live in Sheffield, will they get turned away? What about Barnsley? Denby Dale? Norwich? Its daft.

Do the maths, VAT is 20% inclusive in the £1. Now I am totally lost £1/1.2 = 83p.

I'm pretty certain 20 percent of 100 pence, is 20 pence. It isn't 20% of £1 though, is it? VAT adds 20% leading to a 'Gross Amount' inclusive of VAT (when you buy VATable items like televisions and booze, this is what you see as a price when paying at the checkout). The 'Net Amount' is the Gross Amount less that 20% VAT. If the Net Amount is £1, then yes - you add 20% (20p), and would end up with a Gross Amount of £1.20. However, we know that the club receives £1 Gross (inclusive of VAT). Therefore you remove that 20% by dividing by 1.2 - leading to a Net Amount of 83p, hence the VAT addition to get from Net Amount to Gross Amount is 17p.

I'm not wrong. 20% of 100 is 20. Yes, but I'd like to see your VAT returns if you were in business? Used to do them, below the VAT threshold now though. Remember this, the only people that pay VAT are the general public.
