I think there is every chance Hammill and Ward will go along with Gerrard. These are players largely frozen out. Also think Powell has not got a fecking clue what he is doing and will do with this club exactly what he did at The Valley. Utterly laughable appointment. We were probably the only Championship club that would have considered such a (desperate and comical) move. Very few League 1 or 2 would have done either. What did he do at the Valley (other than win League 1 and finish comfortably above Town every season with a similar playing budget) ? Yorkie that is pathetic

Any more well-known people with the surname Cole that can be 'amusingly' added to the list for staggering comedic effect by our collection of wacky contributors? *rolls eyes* What about that German Lad Helmut kohl, although I've heard he's a bit of a Cabbage

Carlton Cole has the look of a Chris Powell signing to me, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. London connection, Powell will have spoken to West Ham because of the Diego Poyet loan, so, yes, I can see it happening. Plus obviously they trained and played together in the Charlton team that finished top half of the Premier League.

If Chris Powell does what he did at Charlton!! i would be more than happy and who would you have gone for then? don't say Lennon, because he didn't want the job, probably because we wont pay crazy money for players and crazy wage's and end with with massive debts. Chris Powell will bring in the players that will keep us in this division. He was sacked when they were in the relegation places in the championship. Would you really be happy with that! Sooner he goes the better and then who will employ him? Man has no idea how to motivate a decent squad although I confess he seems adept at pissing quite few off. Yes, I'd probably be happy if he was sacked due to Town being in the relegation places in the Championship in March like Charlton were. But we aren't. And its not March.

Anyone thinking carlton Cole would be a poor signing for us is delusion, anyone in the Championship would take him let alone a struggling one,if folk think we will sign anyone better than him i suggest a reality check..

It's worth noting that Charlton had 5 games in hand at the time he was sacked due to Charlton's water logged pitch and a good cup run.
