Wasn't the best player but also tried hard. Loved his gallops down the left wing. Put in a few decent crosses as well. If only that 50 yard volley had gone in against Yeovil...

Been a decent player for us. You can see why he stood out in the SPL but he isn't quite up to it defensively at this level

Good luck to him. Always liked him. Will be a great full back in SPL.

I wonder if this "contracted terminated" involves a pay-out? Dixon requested a release so probably not...? You'd certainly like to think not. Seems a bit weird to have a contract to work somewhere for a specific length of time, then decided you don't want to any more and still get the money regardless.

Shame, always liked Dixon, thought he was decent. Who is back up to Robinson now? Bloody Carroll? Your shitting me?

Thought he was very poor v Leeds. Preferred Dixon to Jack Robinson - but when your face doesn't . He did get caught out of position occasionally, but not more than Jacko - UTT.

Robinson is probably more solid defensively than Dixon although he was partly at fault for both goals against Leeds (something which probably would have got its own thread had it been Dixon) But going forward Dixon is in another league to Robinson. His end product just wasn't always there like it was for Dundee United

Thought Dixon was very solid, he used to get forward well last season too. Good luck to him, decent full back.

'When your face doesn't fit'.....what with every single manager during his tenure and half of the fans. It's amazing how much his worth seems to have increased now he's off. More than adequate cover, especially if he rediscovered the form he had for a good 2-3 months, but generally not a very good defender, particularly weak 1 on 1.

We have just let Maldini go by the sound of it. Good luck to the lad but I trust a former England left back to be a better judge than most on here.

Decent going forward (although didn't actually create much) but positionally and one v one he was suspect to put it politely. Not a loss to us but will be good back in the SPL.

bit worrying that we now have no cover for full backs Edgar. We're normally on the same page, but as much as it may say it on the tin, I really can't see it myself.....not at all.

Cover across all back line plus for centre mid... Best not get anymore injuries, he can't play in two positions

Yeah that's how I saw him in the end. Always flattered to deceive going forward. He had an elusive running style but couldn't translate that into assists or goals like a certain jack hunt did so regularly. Defensively he wasn't up to it. That Norwich game lingers as a recent painful example of his ineptitude. I wish him well tho at Dundee Utd.

Robinson is no better than Dixon, partly at fault for both goals & also the cross that the L66ds player put over the bar in the 2nd half. As for the stupid comments re Maldini, Robinson is no better than Dixon - but good luck to him -UTT.
