Is it me, or is our usual "reliable" sources of information being a tadge quiet on these alleged deals? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part? Maybe they are lying low after getting a panning for daring to suggest butts didn't want to get on the bus

Would love Town to go crazy and go after Bradley Wright-Phillips - he's been tearing up the MLS. Powell knows him from Charlton too. Hes on 7.5K a week in NYC. Well, that would certainly qualify as 'crazy'.

Can't we just wait till tomorrow night to see what transpires before we start lynching Hoyle and Powell? I swear some of us can't wait to get the bloody ropes out! Does NO-ONE trust this club to do right by us? Hold your whisht!!! The £2m Coady money was to help balance the books, the "almost £2m" Smithies money was supposed to go on signings, the £3.5m Butterfield money? I look forward to Town spending over £5m on permanent transfers by this time tomorrow. Loan signings don't really justify spending it, when Smithies and Butterfield's wages are no longer being paid.

Why would we have to spend that much to replace them? And don't tell me we haven't bought cheap and sold big before, 'cos that would just make you look daft.

Didn't we turn down 4.5million from Derby two weeks ago.?
If we sell lolley I'm done with my interest levels in town, he's the most exciting prospect we have, all that talk about development etc
If it's a loan then great because I think he will prove himself and force his way into our plans, we need a recall on it though

What were we told was going to happen with the Smithies money then? It would be reinvested in team-building. Make of that what you will - and clearly you have. Loans are not re-investing it on squad building though are they? The wages for incoming loans are offset by the wages we no longer have to pay for top earners like Smithies.

Paterson & Hourihane on permanent deals, with Vydra & Maguire in on loan would cushion the blow slightly! Time for Dempsey to prove his worth now.

Season long loans (or even shorter) are players at the manager's disposal therefore they certainly do enhance the squad.

Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards They have just brought Foresteri in from Watford so I dunno if Vydra is still on for them.. We'll find out tomorrow I suppose.. Very unlikely he'll be joining us though, just my 'make things seem all better' name!

A mate is a Wendy so when they put owt on their FB page and he likes/shares it I get it, it was on earlier that Vydra would be the 4th signing from Watford. And they've just signed Barry Bannen so the unexamined can cross him off their list of potential signings Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Some of these rumours really don't make sense.
- Reject £3.5 million for Butterfield. Wait a week and accept £3.5 million - Sign a winger on loan the week before then plunder most of the budget on another winger from Forest - Sell Lolley after investing so much time and money developing and bigging him up
Yet no rumours regarding the area we need to address the most - defence.
Something is desperately wrong with the club if these rumours turn out true.

I'm sure u understand that this is a crucial time for us and out of respect for the club some things have to be kept quiet. After all we all want the same thing and that's success for town. That's the same reason super shut his account.

If the squad is stronger by 6pm tomorrow, than it was at the end of last season, I'll be amazed. We are cashing in on anything we have of value lately. We're on course to make a sizeable profit and relegation at the same time.

I should imagine Butterfield won't be cheap, same with Vaughan if he goes. What sort of money do you think Huws and Carayol will be on? Will they be our top earners? I doubt it. I don't have Sky TV either though, so no doubt my opinions are even more worthless now?

Season long loans (or even shorter) are players at the manager's disposal therefore they certainly do enhance the squad. Firstly, they are not our players, so are not building the team and secondly, don't count as an investment. Any wages paid will be offset by the outgoing permanent transfers. The Smithies money is still unspent with 24 hours to go, as will the Butterfield money.

I don't want to see us relegated just to prove a point. The main direction from the club seems to be to liquidisie as many assets as possible lately. Something that I feel will bite us in the arse come the end of the season. Personally, I get the feeling the plug has been pulled some time ago.

Anybody reckon we'll break our transfer record tomorrow? Just about every other team in the championship have spent £2m+ on players this window, or so it seems, so £1.5m+ shouldn't be out of the question, surely? Especially with the £7.5m we've received for tranfer fees + the massive clear out we did in January.. The quality we now required to strengthen the squad & appease the paying fans won't come cheap.. This is the most important transfer deadline day in the clubs history imo.
