The lad on Vital Huddersfield tweeted yesterday we're looking at trying to bring Harry Mcguire in on loan..
Bristol City have had a £2.5m bid rejected as Bruce isn't interested in selling him yet, but he may be open to a loan move? Hardly figured for them last season & went to Wigan on loan for the last few months.. I have no idea how reliable terrier24 is but he posted it about the same time as the Mcgugan rumour yesterday.

What I want to know is, where have Bristol City got 2.5 million from? They have a wealthy owner - like we have. Ours has pumped 40 million quid in so far.

What I want to know is, where have Bristol City got 2.5 million from? Possibly they've seen what Bournemouth and Brentford did last year and decided to push the boat out and go for it a bit. We're playing more of a long game, think we're going to be in for a tougher season than last year personally and again. I think looking at some of the money being spent folk talking of a mid table finish are being very optimistic looking at our signings up to press.

Pilks on loan is the new one.
Would love him back but do we need another winger? probably not.
Unless Lolley is off out on loan

Don't think we need a replacement for Coady.
Whitehead and Hogg are two first team players that play that same position i.e. the holding/defensive midfielder. Then you've got Butterfield who plays further forward, but could also push back a little if required. Then you've got Bunn who can play anywhere up front and he can do the attacking midfielder job if Butterfield were to be more defensive/not playing. Similarly, Hammill is still here and is another option for the attacking midfield role.
That's 4/5 senior players that can play in the middle depending on the tactics/formation you want to go with.
Then there's 3 youth players who should be trying to break into the team - Holmes who can play attacking, and Billing and Tronstad who are more defensive.
Oh and if all that fails and we really need to get someone in, I'm sure we could get a loan in e.g. Poyet.
Think I'd rather the money went on a defender.

I think that there are a couple at Watford who wont make it in the Premier League but are good solid championship players. The centre back Cathcart did okay at Blackpool and had a solid season last year with Watford - maybe worth a look. Good deal in my opinion with Cody - he is obviously a good player but I did begin to wonder how we were going to accomodate all the midfield players within the squad - impossible to keep everyone happy. If it been Butterfield I'd have been more disappointed - I always ask "how does the player influence the game?" - Cody went missing a few times last season, admittedly the lad needed a rest but I think it is an area we will be okay with without him.

He was poor for Wednesday against us. Looks a bit luxurious. May as well have kept Majewski Thought he was pretty much the only player with a clue on a terrible pitch in a terrible game. He is a player, a bit like Butterfield, who hasn't lived up to his obvious talent - like Butterfield, a move here may just be very good for both of us. (Heard the rumour about him about 2 weeks ago - rather surprisingly, it was via something NC said) In my opinion, we have 2/3 solid midfielders plus Butterfield (who can play a few midfield roles very well). So if we end up replacing Coady with a more attacking payer, I think it suits the balance of the team really. However I'm not convinced LM would be a good buy, but if he does come I hope he proves me wrong. Hopefully Powell might work his managerial charm and turn him into a good player.

Pilks on loan is the new one. Would love him back but do we need another winger? probably not. Unless Lolley is off out on loan His wages would be expensive and I don't think he would get in the first 11. He's not as good as Scannell for a start. I would really like to see Lolley (and Bunn) kick on as well

Are we not in the market for a striker? Yes we got the main 3 of wells vaughny and Miller, obviously bunn can fill in I suppose, but with injury record of Vaughan ect do we think we need another? Always liked le fondre and Nicky Maynard has a decent record, are these two still available?

Who have we got left to excite my 12 year old lad ? Kids and grown up kids want a youngish player to look up to , to inspire them . we now have team of pensioners (according to my lad) Coady was the only player to come from a premier league club , If my lad representative of 13-12 year old fans they gutted James Vaughan was the youngest ever premier league goal scorer.. Bunn/Smith Man City.. We've just signed a young player from West Brom who played against Brazil in the last world cup.. Educate the lad! Yea I take your point , particularly about Bunn he is exciting to watch , however Smith is a defender , Vaughan spends more time on Dr couch than pitch and he's not seen the ausie import yet . With the exception of Bunn we have no one with any flair or excitement , no one to get bums in the ground and off seats when we're going forward . I know Hammil was a lose cannon but he was exciting , as was Pilks , Novak , Rhodes and now we have half a Wallace Arnold bus trip , not saying they are bad but if u are 13 not exactly exciting

You must be watching a different game to me No I'm asking you to see it from a 13 year old eyes , we swapped a 22 year old ex Liverpool player future star in the making for a 34 year old Middlesbrough player , we not landed a exciting Man united left back but instead have a west brom reject and we not spent a penny yet , early days I know

If he can rediscover some form then he could be a vital assert, ic he can stop shagging strippers, drinking and whatever else he was upto.

In fact other than Adomah I can't think of many better wingers in the division

Wells is one of the fan favs especially with the younger fans, you totally missed out Lolley. Lolley is an exciting player with flare, picks up the ball runs at defenders and gets the crowd cheering, much similar to what Bunn was doing at the start of the season.I wouldn't necessarily call it 'flare' but Jacob Butterfield is also a player who isn't afraid to run at the defence and have the odd long shot and this is all without mentioning Sean Scannell...

I don't think he's ever been the same since. Seems to have turned him into a fanny

Are we talking about the Pilks of then or the Pilks of now? Have you seen much of Pilks lately? How's he doing? Seems to be falling back down the leagues to where his ability is best suited. Very different players, but not much in 'em if you ask me. Would I like the pair of them together on our flanks? Yes.

Agreed. Now if only the manager would show some faith in him and give him a regular start.
