Anthony Gerrard has replied to that with "There seems to be a reoccuring theme....." Er no, Vaughan is a decent footballer who other clubs want. Which other clubs want Vaughan? If they wanted him they could have got him because it obvious Hoyle is happy for him to leave The only reason he's stayed is because no one was prepared to match what he's on here, i.e. he's not worth those wages with his injury problems

What has Vaughan supposed to have done wrong? Good question. Only way this can be answered is to know, is he fit to play or isn't he? Simple as.

IF that's what it's about pipes. But god knows we need him now and If Ameobi was the alternative I'm glad it's fallen through. When was the last time Vaughan scored a goal for us? I'd take a fit Ameobi over a crocked Vaughan. Norwich at home in feb?

Does being a supporter of a football club preclude you from reasoned, independent thinking? Does being a supporter of a football club preclude you seeing when a player is taking your club for a ride? If the bloke is doing his job, fine no problem pay him his exorbitant wage and get on with it. When said player is swinging the lead, unfit for work, unwilling to do the little extras all footballers do like the PR side of things, hospital and schools visits. He's doing the absolute bare minimum, talking shite on Twitter, all the time pulling in one of the biggest wages at the club. It's no wonder whatsoever the club want shut. Absolutely nothing to do with the Davys or the Oystens.

Ameobi could still sign anytime as he is unnattached and is unaffected by transfer window

He was on the bench against Brighton & Fulham so he must have been fit. Players can't start games if the manager doesn't pick him. If the manager isn't picking our highest earning player then there has to be a fitness concern there.

Always been a Vaughan fan but I'm pretty dissapointed with his attitude considering the length of time the clubs supported him while he's been injured.

You seriously can't think that a player would not take exception to effectively your year's notice being made public at a fans forum. No club is above reproach, DH is a brilliant Chairman but IMO he laid an egg with this one and if Vaughan doesn't move soon it will come home to roost, DH can afford it but the more that the Gobern and now Vaughan situations get around the footballing community then our good name in attracting young players to develop could be tarnished by a chairman's interference when players are injured (especially one like Vaughan whose injury history is probably at its best with us) and derogatory remarks about past players in public forums.

A fully fit vaughan I'd take over Ameobi every single day. So would I if it were to exist, that's a given. We haven't seen a properly fit Vaughan in well over a year. There's good reason DH wanted him shipped out.

Wigan waiting to announce three players, given the issues here and break in trust let's hope he's one of them.

Shocking if reet. And how much has he taken the club for in that time? And folk wonder why we want rid. His goal against promoted Norwich was on March 17th His last goal was in the win against Playoff bound Ipswich on April 6th in his second to last start. Absolutely shocking FFS To compare, Miller hasn't scored in his 8 starts since Vaughan's last goal for Town. Yeah let's get rid.

I'd rather have DH's honesty every time, that's what still ties him to us. He'll tell it as it is and he has the club's best interests at heart. Of course Vaughan has taken exception but the truth hurts doesn't it. Doc, do you seriously think Vaughan was expecting a contract extension on the back of his recent appearance, scoring and injury records? Seriously? I agree DH could have been more diplomatic and said a lot less but that's not his style is it. He's only told it as it is, ie James Vaughan will not be having his contract renewed and is free to look elsewhere.

It would appear that man management at the club leaves something to be desired. Having said publicly we want shut of him and failing to do so, we now have a player on our books who is earning large amounts of cash and is extremely pissed off.

Its not the players I'm questioning at the minute.

I've never seen Vaughan give less than 100% on the pitch, I wouldn't pick Miller (on his arse appealing for a foul more often than not) as a guy to compare to Vaughan regarding effort and workrate.

We forced Smithies out and have tried to do the same with Vaughan. All this nonsense about 'doing things right' is out of the window. The Chairman looks a tit for his comments pre-Brighton and the club have been acting like bastards to reduce the wage bill.
I'm sure the fans wouldn't give a damn if they felt the ends justified the means but, sadly, we look like a shambles.

It's not the first time a club has said a player won't be having a player's contract renewed and it won't be the last. As I said before, I bet JV knew in his gut that that would be the case anyway.

Always been a Vaughan fan but I'm pretty dissapointed with his attitude considering the length of time the clubs supported him while he's been injured. I'm with you there Rich. Even if some things have happened that he hasn't agreed with, he should have kept his comments to himself & remembered the numerous times he's been paid his massive wages whilst injured. There's obviously lots of ill feeling on both sides, but while he remains a Town player, these have got to be put to one side for the benefit of the club. If fit, he should at least be on the bench. We're so pitifully short of options upfront & are simply not in a position to leave him out of the match day squad.

I can see it from both sides tbh, one thing is for sure though - we will need him if he is fit and can play because our striking options aren't great
