Strangely though he was fit enough and playing for Town until Deans public comments at the Q+A, the root cause of the current issue. It's hardly turned out to be the quoted win win situation has it? I was just thinking the same Doc.

I do not know the reasons that provoked Hoyle to make public Vaughans contract situation, can only surmise that it was a culmination of issues, but hardly be described as one of our finest "being open" moments.

Dean Hoyle is going to have one hell of an autobiography.

Make your mind up You stated this earlier in this thread I think you will find that dealing with Vaughan since the start of the season left DH no option than to publicly state that he would not be renewing his contract.Yes puts himself about WHEN playing but a complete billy big bollocks the rest of the time,,a typical smart arsed scouser. Nah he ain't injured is he .. Unfit probably I reckon I agree. What an utter mess. Loads of rumours and conspiracy theories but Town are still paying for an expensive player and getting nowt in return. I really hoped we would see a bit more of Vaughan this season, even if it was only him playing for a move elsewhere. A fit and firing Vaughan would have benefited both parties. Perhaps that was wishful thinking as he's plainly not the player he was, but I was trying to be optimistic. I think is probably safe to say we'll never see him in a Town shirt again. What a sad way for his Town career to end. I don't think the situation had been managed well at all.

Andy I completely agree with you and its very rare I criticise the club but they have shot themselves in the foot in this instance. I am really miffed at all the flack Vaughan seems to be getting at the moment , what has he done wrong? Why did Town announce publicly at the virtual start of the season Vaughans contract would not be renewed surly it could have been delayed until the season had nearly ended. I agree Vaughan has probably put two fingers up at Town and I can understand why. Lets be honest its not as though we do not need a fit and eager Vaughan to be playing at the moment. I am more than a little miffed with the club and its attitude towards Vaughan which I have explained is very unlike me.

Expect this Lad to start banging them in again when we make a change.
Not sure what has gone on here but a change will give him a new lease of life.
Not long till we will be singing the Vaughan song again and the corner flag is rocking.
David De Gea was finished at Man United......

Regardless of how this has been handled Vaughan signed a contract to play for us until the end of this season.
Why should any of this stop that from happening?
Club could have handled this better but as far as in concerned this is a very sad end to Vaughans time at the club where he could have been seen as a legend

So if he's nowhere near the squad ? What's he doing ? Training with the U21's. I've never understood this. Surely the last people we want him training with are a bunch of lads we want to set good examples for. If and only if his character is how people describe we may as well stick him in the gym

Shows how desperate things have got for Vaughan when people on here are saying Lee Novak is better than him...

As for the gym, I doubt you'll ever see him in there much.

Does Powell want to play Vaughan but the hierarchy are saying no ?
If he doesn't then he should be sacked immediately.

No I don't.
But I'm not going to make up stuff about who does or doesn't want to play him either.

Not asking you to make anything up but if it is the club hierarchy that have told Powell not to pick him then that is a big issue. Powell has already had his hands tied to some degree and if he wants Vaughan to play then he should be able to play him. This is would show that we are trying to force Vaughan out and that finances are coming before the betterment of the team.

Vaughan will struggle to get a contract anywhere for next season if he refuses to play AND the club could explore breach of contract rules. IF the club has relegated him to training with the kids (as suggested on here) then that tells me that they do not wish to play him.
