Yes, you're right Doc. You're the one pining for an injury prone player with an attitude problem and an inability to train who doesn't want to play for our club and I'm the one cracking up.

Not a prayer. Best we can hope is an extended loan. I agree with this, no way Leicester will let this lad go but if we can keep him to the end of the season I'd be very happy. Great debut and to see Adomeh subbed on the hour shows how well he played.

What a cracking player can defend and very tricky Must be worth 2 million I think he will be worth a lot more than that in a couple of years. If we could keep him until the end of the season it would be a massive coup.

We are all allowed our favourite players, you only need to look at your ranting when the team was announced yesterday. I'm not pining, just think having him on our bench rather than Brum's would be better for US. But you continue to talk to yourself fella, at least you can't fall out that way

Very impressed with him yesterday, probably going to get better as he gets more games as well. Could do with unearthing a centre half in a similar mould. If we can get him for the rest of the season we should as Davidson is very poor at this level, massively out of his depth.

Said it from the first I saw of him and nothing has changed my mind since. I was proved right about my protestations over him not getting picked. You, on the other hand, are hankering over a player with an attitude problem, horrendous injury record, inability to train properly and who ultimately doesn't want to play for the club. And I'm the one crcking up? Wow. I think post readers on here will recognise the 'talking to myself' as a pisstake. It's called having a bit of a laugh Doc. You should try it sometime.

What I don't understand is this mythical 'I can spot a player' crap that you're peddling. You've ended up in some frankly embarrassing spats with fair minded other posters over this status of being a talent spotter. If you were you'd be a scout for a top team. Most posters can see talent in front of them but even the most talented of players need to be in the right place at the right time for things to go in their favour. I totally hope that Dempsey turns out to be all you hope him to be and more for us, currently DW sees other players ahead of him at Town and you went off on one prematch. Your childish - I know someone who can deliver a cross - in the Chilwell thread is a fine way to welcome a new loan player on his debut for us that you didn't even see, and someone who likely is headed for a far better career than Kyle and has already been capped at U21 level with England.. If I was as petty a poster then you might have found 'Vaughan would have finished that' posts in the matchday thread after the keeper saved from Wells. You seem to take delight in Vaughan's failings at Brum, which again serves no purpose than to ridicule someone we happily paid £600k for and IMO was the most talented player when fit to don a Town shirt since Stewart, but hey you carry on posting about a Brum players air shots and misses on a Town matchday thread and yet giving Nick non stop stick for doing similar. All this is posted with the utmost respect you understand

I'll post what I like and where I like thanks Doc.
A bit hypocritical to point that out when you've commented on other games you might happen to be watching in a matchday thread before also.
The rest of your shite, I can't be arsed with on a Sunday.
Apart from to say, yes, I can spot a player. Proved it a few times on here. If you don't like it or have a problem with that then I can't help you.

I'm not going to fall out with you over Dempsey. I've already been proved right on that count. He's created goals at both U21 and senior level from crosses. That's just a fact. The new lad sounds great but looks to have trouble with his crossing. Another fact. Where's the new lad going to be in February when his loan deal is up? We don't know. Another Drinkwater type who will move on to better things never to be seen again? Maybe. Dempsey will still be our player.

Sorry can't let that go, suppose Holmes had been plonked out wide and Dempsey put in the middle, do you really believe the outcome would have been the same? Dempsey in my opinion will not flourish out wide nor would Holmes.

Why is there even an argument about a natural left back playing at left back instead of a central midfielder?
Surely the argument should be whether Dempsey or Huws plays? Huws keeps his place after his performance yesterday

Huws keeps his place after his performance yesterday Spot on. Like 3 pipes I was surprised and disappointed that Dempsey had been left out of the starting 11. Not as a fullback because that was a one off filling in job. I thought there would be a place from him in midfield. The almost as big surprise was starting Lolley and Scannell in the same team. Whatever, the system seemed to work. We are covered in many positions now, apart from striker and centre half.

Chilwell acknowledged in his radio interview that his crosses were poor in the second half. But within a matter of one or two minutes in the first half he put a sublime pass into Nahki's path and then a cross from the wing with a note pinned on it that, unfortunately, Scannell couldn't decipher.

Huws keeps his place after his performance yesterday Pigeon holes. You weren't complaining about a midfielder playing at LB last week when Dempsey was putting in an excellent shift in an unnatural position. My argument yesterday was surrounding dropping an in-form player, a no no in my book. I posted I wasn't happy about it but wished the players who did play good luck. Cue the usual clowns lining up to have a pop. I'm delighted Chilwell played well yesterday and indeed the team in general. However, it appears the lad has problems with his crossing and that, for a fullback, isn't good. 'Huws keeps his place after his performance yesterday' fair enough, but why then not apply that logic to Dempsey too? The lad put in an excellent shift against Sheff W who are just as good a side as Boro and was immediately dropped for the next game. He was excellent against Leeds too, unlike your new mate Huws. Works both ways. I don't see personnel as the biggest problem at the club anyway, it's great we've got all this young talent now getting their chances and working their bollocks off. The biggest problem in 2 of our last 3 games (ironically both home games) is we've been royally fucked over by referees. It's a huge problem because I don't know what we can do about it. At least with Wagner we have a manager who it seems is going to make his feelings heard unlike nice guy Chris and 'don't send him off' Lillis. That's a start. The crowd need to be doing more too, until we make that stadium our fortress we can forget about San Siro.

I absolutely loved Vaughny. So did I but he went from hero to zero a long time ago. Move on. As for bile, he skied one yesterday with half the goal gaping and his only other contribution to the game was a fresh air shot. I can't do anything about that. You can't dress mutton as lamb. The bloke's let himself down big time getting his agent to whinge to DH about not getting home early from his extremely highly paid job. Hero to zero. Big time.

Most posters can see talent in front of them And another reply to this erroneous comment. There were 3 posters on here who stuck their necks on the line for the young uns. Frankiesleftpeg, Chumlee and myself. The rest of you, to a man, were giving it the 'if Powell's not playing them they're not good enough' line. Since them we've seen the likes of Lolley, Billing, Holmes and Dempsey all impress greatly when given their chance. The problem wasn't the players, it was the manager. So I hope you excuse me in wanting you to stick comments like that where the sun doesn't shine. 3 posters put their neck on the line. Not only are you flat out wrong but where the fuck do you get the arrogance to even go there? Always the same in life, the toe the line brigade trying to take the credit for the real visionaries and risk takers.

Always the same in life, the toe the line brigade trying to take the credit for the real visionaries and risk takers. With all due respect, if you three are proven right (and I hope you are), it'll be little more than a stab in the dark rather than any real insight. I could compile a three or four minute Youtube video of Miller's best bits in his time here and make him look decent (admittedly it will basically be the Norwich game last season, second half against Bolton and his finish against Reading). It wasn't just a case that Powell wouldn't play them, but neither would managers when they went on loan, if we could even get them loan spells. What evidence were you guys using to decide that they were good enough? Youngsters have hardly been a big part of Wagner's selection so far, in his two games they've pretty much been used to fill in for injuries/suspensions. Lets see how much they feature going forward when the full squad is available and we hopefully bring a few more in, before they can be declared good enough for the Championship.

With all repsect, that seems a bit of a scraping the bottom of the barrel post but I'll address it. And in Captain colour too. 'Youngsters have hardly been a big part of Wagner's selection so far' Nobody was asking to see all the senior players sacked off and the U21s side put straight into their place. I can't believe that needs to be said. It's about integrating the talent you have at your disposal. A proper sub appearence here and there as opposed to 4 minutes under Powell. A full appearence here and there when merited. Are you seriously trying to argue that Holmes would have featured under Powell? That Dempsey would start 2 games in a row? That Lolley would start a game when we're not safe in the league? Come on. 'What evidence were you guys using to decide that they were good enough?'Do you not check out the U21s and development threads Walt? Myself and others post up videos there every week. 'they've pretty much been used to fill in for injuries/suspensions.'That's how you get your chance sometimes. Is Davidson injured or just shite? The fact is, no matter what way some may twist it, these lads are playing, they are taking their chances in the new system and they are impressing. Not just impressing as youngsters, they are impressing as proper fkn footballers. Billing, excellent until he got injured. Lolley, excellent yesterday. Dempsey, 2 great games in a row, Town's best player v Leeds. Holmes coming on and creating chances, he's a clever player that lad. When you've got a player who can weight a difficult pass you know you've got something to work with there. Absolutely, give it time Walt, but come on these lads were rotting away under Powell and the concensus on here was if they aren't getting picked by Powell they can't be good enough. I'm not concerned whether they set the world on fire out on loan, new club, different system, change of digs, different teammates, different manager's philosophies, worse quality pitches, just a completely different situation

Listening to the argument above. I think most British managers would have taken the same route as Powell with regard to young players. A shame in a way we have had to import someone to get the balance right - after 2 games anyway.

He's more of an option to Paterson... one being slightly more defensive, the other more attacking. However, in this new system I think we are mostly best off going at sides and therefore Paterson would get the nod presently. Both will have a big future with us I hope.
