Pretty mediocre today but 3 points is the main thing. Not convinced Jevons worked hard enough or kept onside enough, though a goal and an assist isn't to be sniffed at. Williams' much vaunted set pieces were mainly awful - the first 3 didn't get off the ground. But early days. I thought Glennon looked very solid (time people got off his back), Worthington getting on the pitch was a bonus, and Clark played reasonably well - his long throws still handy when Boothy plays. Ref gave some mystifying decisions - though booking Holdsworth wasn't one of them.

I was told that he failed a fitness test this morning. Believe what you like.

Two awful teams playing in an awful game in an awful atmosphere in front of an awful attendance on a freezing cold December afternoon.
Still we got the three points that puts us over half way towards avoiding relegation.
Roll on Chelteneneneneham next Saturday.

Schofield was a passenger yet again. I dont mind playing poorly when we win, but there where a poor side and Town were'nt that much better, but i thought Williams looked good.

Williams' passing, tackling and chasing improved as the game wore on; I remember one incident late in the game when he outmuscled one of the strikers to the byline to allow the ball to go dead; very impressive that.
But his much-vaunted set-plays were crap; he couldn't get it up and over the first defender. He'll have to do MUCH better than that in future.

though booking Holdsworth wasn't one of them. Yeah it ws a little late wasn't it ;D I think he started sliding once the ball had been passed on. They dint half throw themselves to the ground to day. They were just cheats (either that or very light weight) That is the part of the game I hate. I hate it when schofield does as well At least we got all the points

Noticed before the game that the ref had not sent anyone off yet, although i have to say that holdsworth should have walked really, it was pretty horrific!
Not complaining mind!, although i wouldnt be astounded if the Bristol Rovers fans are though!

... i have to say that holdworth (sic) should have walked really, it was pretty horrific! Nah - only a yellow. Right in front of me. Late? Yes, but not THAT bad. Did you see the Villa bloke that got Dwight Yorke in the Sunderland game? Now THAT was a red if ever I saw one! Studs straight into the Crown Jewels and knew immediately that he was going to walk. Lucky boy ...
