Coventry have started the season well but lets see how they get on when they start playing the top sides. Out of the nine games they've played so far 7 are currently in the bottom half of the table. QPR are, arguably, the strongest side they've played so far & they lost that one 2-0.

Fair play to Coventry, 5 out of 5 back at the Ricoh & must be great for their long suffering fans, looking forward to going at last on 30th April........promotion party? Who knows!

Grant scored twice to come from behind to beat QPR. His second goal was well taken.

Brilliant second goal for the Baggies, Grant finishing an excellent move.
As it stands it stops QPR going above us.

Peterborough have now conceded 15 goals in their last 4 games. Ouch.

In our first 9 games that season we played 5 teams that finished in the top 10, including wins at Newcastle & Leeds. We also got a point against Villa in those games who finished 13th that season. Like I say, QPR are probably the strongest team Coventry have played so far & they lost 2-0. Not really comparable, is it?

OPTA have given it to Grant. Crazy decision. Sure it was a fumble by the keeper but how can it not be given to Grant, he shot and the keeper couldnt stop it and made an howler.

If that first goal can officially be awarded to Grant, how come Forestβs second goal last week is officially an OG by Nicholls, rather than awarded to Lolley? Totally inconsistent.

If your shot is on target and is not deflected by a member of your own team, it's your goal, whatever.
Keeper did not save it, it went into the goal before it was touched by another outfield player. Keepers touch the ball onto the post or the bar and it goes in all the time and it's not an own goal? Easy, it's the same passage of play... Can't see the problem, keeper and defenders don't want the OG and attackers are encouraged to have a shot.

Great game. 3-2 to Liverpool now, but I suspect there's more goals to come. Brentford putting up a great fight.

Whatever happened to the originator of this thread? Still a great thread. Some of us miss Phil's pearls of wisdom. But even he will be struggling to keep up the oil company party line.
