Sterling just had a touch/pass that Diakhaby would have been proud of

Oddly looks like Englands front 3 are not going to let each other score??
Might have to be Maguire from a corner???
German No15 looks like Doorstaff???

How about having a go with two strikers. Or is that too old school

Sterling is clearly a very good player, though nowhere near as good as he thinks he is & certainly not world class - how many got excited when they realised he was clear on goal twice? I certainly didn't.

Quite impressed with Channel 4’s pre match coverage. Thomas Hitzlsperger speaks better English than me! Improved performance from England tonight IMO.

I certainly didn't. He actually surprised me with that first one when he cut back on to his left. That was better than I thought he was capable of but the finish was so obvious making it easy for the keeper

Why is Luke Shaw always out of position? Wouldn't a midfield three be better? (As long as Mason Mount doesn't play.) Why was James Ward-Prowse dropped?

I certainly didn't. The pace he showed to get on one of those chances, think it was the Shaw through ball, was unreal but then having done the legwork he fluffed his lines.

Why is Luke Shaw always out of position? Why don't England try not to be overrun in midfield by having 3 in midfield? Why is Mason Mount in the squad and James Ward-Prowse not?

I was going to post earlier that we look a bit like Town, devoid of confidence. Then all of a sudden they started to up the tempo.
Maybe they’re timing it to perfection? 😁
Another Q, general one really. Why do all the subs laik about at half time. Shouldn’t they be in the dressing room listening to the tactics for the second half? Seems to be the norm nowadays that they’re excluded from the h/t team talk.

Lightning quick break and then Sterling plays it back.

That's the main problem for me, he needs too many chances to score one.

Is it boring as fuck then? Germany well on top, but some isolated England attacks. Kane trying hard. Pressing is better than against Italy. However, lack of pattern or plan.

On strictly next time Maguire, his footwork is excellent. He actually threw the bloke coming at him a dummy? Watch the fucking ball..

Feel sorry for Maguire, why on Earth is he being played. The most Town parallel I can draw from it is playing Schofield in that covid season - who on Earth thinks it’s a good idea to put him in this situation?!

I don’t feel sorry for him at all. His performance so far tonight has pretty much guaranteed him a place in the first game at the World Cup.

Is it a sackable offence to go over 9 hours without scoring in open play? If it isn't, it should be
