It's probably just me but I can't stand Guardiola. Horrible little hypocritical drug cheat. The sooner he's gone, the better. I'm going to copy and paste this... This isn't about Guardiola (I don't like him) nor about Man City (I don't think them). This was me saying that the idea of building from the back - which is now being employed by clubs of all levels - being 'boring' directly conflicts with the statical evidence. This started with the Spanish FA 30 years ago when they completely reorganised how kids' football was to be played. Nothing to do with Pep. They were juicing like fuck on human growth hormones too, which helped them.

Brest just need to better Lille's result tonight and Steve Mounie's playing Champions League next season. Still starts pretty much every week for them. Gosh..I was just about to post something similar about Brest. Could be goal difference if they both win orlose..Brests is 2 worse. Brest have had a great season Lille losing at half time. It's on.

Brest 2 PTS ahead but equal on gd, if Lille score they go into 3rd place by one goal.
Brest could do with a couple more goals..

Danel Sinani came off the bench today to score his first goal of the season and St. Pauli’s winner to clinch the Bundesliga 2 title.

But football evolves. Hungary were the team of the 50s by stopping being rigid in terms of possession. If the 'boring Man City' way of playing proves to be a winning tactic, eventually everyone will play that way... Until another (better) way comes by. As far as 'boring, tedious and sterile' is concerned, it's a long way from the Route One football I grew up watching in the 80s and 90s. Fair point although cannot say much as we were pretty successful with that under Graham Taylor . I think trouble is teams at all levels try to copy Man C and their very effective easy on the eye style but it obviously doesn’t have the same affect ! Loved that Watford team. Watched them at the shay v Halifax in 4th division (1all draw) just as they started that meteoric rise through to the top of the first.

Foreign ownership has ruined the game. Abramovic- Rich off the back of bent Russian oil money. UAE and the Mansour kingdom bankrolling a billion pound squad. Now Saudi have bought Newcastle whilst all the time the Glazers have asset stripped Man U for a decade to service their own debt.
Governments of the time have failed to protect what was more than just another sport. It’s our national game and a weekly pastime for millions.. Clubs are often a key part of local commmunities.
We needed control measures, strong leadership, oversight and regulation including some form of salary cap type structure or even a draft (us) type system to help aid competitiveness. Oh and a huge reinvestment legal requirement for the funding of grassroots football in local especially poor areas by clubs (& or players). Instead we got the greedy premier league, greedy ministers and basically capitalism run wild and untapped.
It’s interesting now with the ffp stuff but it feels to me that they won’t have the actual bite to really impose any significant sanctions on clubs at fault and then really their rules just become another set of guidelines and structures for the clubs’ accountants to circumnavigate. Tax avoidance, not evasion of course.

Elton and GT had such a strong connection - far cry from now .

So it's confirmed, Sheffield United have overtaken us as the 3rd shittest team in premier league history.
Not really kept up much with the premier league this season, but they must have been pretty bad to take that accolade away from us? 104 goals conceded 😮

We let some shocking goals in but they surpassed our shitness and ability to just fall apart by some tune. Makes you wonder who will be utterly shite in the premier league next season... I hope its not Ipswich..
