He isn't active until the header. You can't be offside from a corner (well you can but it would be the worst corner routine ever) He is active as soon as he makes contact with the keeper as the ball is then in play, he never attempts to get onside, its firstly a foul and as the ball is in play, he is active and offside as soon as the ball comes forward. He isn’t offside until the header. When the corner is taken he is behind the ball so cannot be deemed offside until the header is made. The only thing he can be pulled up for until the header is made is for obstruction or foul play. He isn’t offside when the corner is taken.

Bobby Madley going down a storm over on Humberside Stupid from him really. He should have shown a bit of common sense and blown up quickly He hasn't touched the ball and the player controlled it fine. Yes he's maybe delayed him, but the ball was lost because then then tried to do a Cruyff turn after he already had control. If he'd not got control of it and was then robbed I'd have sympathy, but that wasn't the case. It's a poor decision from the Hull player.

I don't see the issue with the offside part of the City goal. Most of the time a ref would give a soft free-kick for the backing into the keeper, but as has been rightly pointed out he didn't go this in an offside position. He isn't in the eyeline of the keeper when offside and the ball doesn't come near him.
It's a foul for backing in or a goal. It can't be offside, so the VAR is right to award the goal.

Seriously? He is active he is on the field as an opposition player. Yes I know you are going to quote the rule but the rule is bollocks.why is he in the position he is the answer is to disrupt play. If you ask me that rule was bought in to throw confusion over offside and onside it should be as easy as tennis but because we now have interfering and not it’s open to the highest bidder I mean interpretation. The bit you're ignoring is that when he's jostling with the keeper he isn't offside as you can't be offside from a corner. Sounds like you side with money and modern footy. Personally I think it’s wank and only favours interpretation. Fwiw I don’t ignore anything I just try to rationalise things and with greed and modern day want for things in excess there’s no room for that just what can be manipulated for financial gain. I will never not support huddersfield town my dad installed it into my DNA but modern day football has gone to the devil. Soulless bollocks where your dick is as big as your wallet allows it to be. To talk about your original point you said I’d ignored if a player did that to a money citeh player through on goal it would theatrics a red card and a goal to them we all know it. Hypocrisy on another level. When we lost to the scab bastard twigs I wasent that arsed similar to many reading fans I spoke to late in May 2017 all I wanted was to be competitive in the championship. Each to there own.

He is nowhere near the keeper when the header from Stones goes towards goal. He is ducked and no where near the eye line of Sa. Would love for it to have been disallowed with it being a city winner. But unfortunately it was the correct decision. I think this weekend has been the best for VAR and getting the decisions correct.

If you have tunnel vision you may not be distracted, given his profession this is unlikely, the man is in his close field of vision, his movements will be seen by the keeper. Given he had nudged the keeper after the corner is taken he commits a foul anyway.. The nudge is to distract the keeper or to hinder him coming for the crossed ball.. Simply too close to the ball, too close to an opposition player not to be classed as active. Maybe not if your playing for City against the bottom of the league, though🤔 Im generally for var, but some of the rules do seem to need defining , Id say if you are outside the posts in this particular incident you are not active, in the 6 yard box a yard or so from the keeper, definitely active.

No way is it offside.
The offside only comes into play once Stones heads the ball. The only other option is to award a free kick for the minimal contact on the keeper or let the goal stand. Don't even know why VAR was getting involved. They are fully miked up and the ref would have told Atwell why he had awarded the goal. Atwell had no evidence to contradict the decision ,so why waste every ones time ?

I always ask myself if the decision would have been the same at the other end of the pitch. An injury time winner for Wolves vs abu dhabi united? Don't think so.
He would have blown for a foul on the keeper and then VAR wouldn't have seen enough evidence to overrule it.

It looked offside at first but they seemed to explain why it wasn't which is all you can ask for really.
I guess the trouble is Wolves did have a goal disallowed like that last season which is why they are frustrated.
Naturally Pep thought it was the right decision.

Don't bother with pl normally, but watching motd now confirms that VAR wrings every last drop of spontaneous joy out of the game.

It gave 2 goals today that were wrongly disallowed. It just ruins the game. It kills everything that used to be good. The decision should be made in real time on the pitch by the referee.. I don't really care if they get it right, the rules state its in his opinion. I follow every league below the PL from the champs down to Brighouse in tier 8. Generally don't bother with the PL. Shit fans, shit tattooed posing multi millionaire footballers, gym bunny refs drawing imaginary tv screens.. middle aged managers with ridiculous bright white teeth...just fuck off

Killie very good against Rangers today. at last we see a competitive game of football involving one of the top two teams in Scotland on a Sunday lunchtime. Tom Lawrence playing for Rangers... one of those players I cannot abide since his Derby days. Some guy called Gary Mackay-Steven playing for Killie... remember him? What a lovely and welcome refreshing weekend in The Top League in Scotland this weekend ! Kilmarnock probably deservedly beat Gers today and had one ruled out for the most marginal offside as well... Celtic cruising at Parkhead v Aberdeen and before you can say boo to a goose it’s 2-2 The Hoops on the cosh and only a goal disallowed for handball stops it going 2-3 to The Dandy Dons... What Jimmy Thelin has done at Pittodrie is amazing indeed and they are unbeaten since March... Aye - The Gruesome Twosome not getting it all their own way this weekend for sure ! 😊 👍

Isn’t there supposed to be a clear and obvious mistake thing with VAR? If they were only disputing the offside then maybe it wasn’t clear & obvious? But adding in this interfering with play thing feels like they’re allowing permutations to come into play. PGMOL are crooked as fuck for me, regardless of this being Man C, it feels like they wanted something to change in this instance.

Very poor communicating from officials then as the ref even points to the centre circle. All wolves players and staff surround him and 4th official too. Bizarre. Apologies, seems you are correct.
