And when did Mooy sign? Officially? Not official but will be next week. Nothing is official until 1st of July at the earliest, that's when the transfer windows opens. But yes, Mooys agent has said it will get sorted this coming week...he wants to be straight in at the start of pre season.

Perhaps he might be given a week or two's rest from playing: he's practically gone at it all year round.

Presumably it's just a matter of course that they go through in July?

He's stated that that is want he wants to do...because "the worlds greatest players, Messi, Ronaldo etc regularly play 50+ in a season" and he wants to approach that level as far as he is able. I think he'll agree with his agent where he wants to be this week, and agree terms quite quickly...it's ALL about being on the right platform for him in a World Cup year, he has no thoughts beyond that (hence why some "bigger" clubs who also agreed fee with Man City, where he would be used sporadically, have already been told he has no interest in signing).

Good to know if true. Was very concerned because anyone else that's agree a fee will be able to offer more in wages. Very odd for a player to not put wages first in their decision though so I will be waiting until it's official.

Mooy knows he's got the love and admiration here at Town, would be easy to sign on the dotted line, but what has he been offered elsewhere we don't know that. I'd be now surprised if he didn't sign knowing his name is one of the first on the team sheet with him needing game time guaranteed.

"I think he's keen to get himself sorted and settled as soon as possible, so he knows what he's doing next. "Wherever he goes he wants to be there on the first day of pre-season." "I would hope that at some stage next week, possibly, that he will have made a decision and he will sign a contract with somebody" (There's also mention in there of a £27m buy back clause being part of the deal!)

I might have more info later, meeting my sauce. BREAKING: Aaron Mooy not signing for Huddersfield Town, after talks they'd rather spend the money on Theo Robinson, James Vaughan & Gary Roberts. Due to the fact they could "still do a job".

Not disputing your source/comment about the buy back clause, but that figure sounds a bit high? If you're selling an asset that you might think at some point in the future you shouldn't have sold it, then surely the buy back price would be set at something more sensible that allows the purchasing club to make a reasonably healthy profit (as they took the risk in purchasing said asset). So if we bought for £8m and then his value shot to £20m the buy back clause would probably want to be set at something like £16m... City would get first dabs and if they weren't interested it becomes a free market transaction... Arguably it's a slightly different approach to a sell-on clause... With this one it does however seem to have a touch of cake & eat it about it...

Idont want to pour cold water on this but there has been no comment from town officioly about agreeing a fee and as mooys agent has said he is weighing up the options.Every one is jumping the gun here and as I see it its all up in the air at this moment so till its confirmed one way are another we all should back off and see what happens
