Boro took over 4200. Town took 5000 (04') & 8000 (82') in the last two league cup visits.....Anyone there for the two 74' ties? Yes. I was at both but the one that sticks in my mind is the 2-1 defeat. On our little estate in Bradley were 2 families of Leeds fans (they had moved there from Morley and Birstall, I think, so “legitimate”) and included a football violence enthusiast, who was about 20. They took me and my mate to the game and took us in to the Gelderd End 😳 When Town equalised, me and my mate (14 at the time and a tad naive) celebrated. The 20 year old threatened to wall us up for being Town fans despite the fact he was, hopefully, driving us back. I couldn’t be more relieved when Leeds got their winner. I think the 1-1 was Clough’s last game in his 44 days. Clough's first and last games in charge were against Town.

The back 4 that started last night cost around £40m, that's not even including the fee they paid for Ampadu. They looked absolutely clueless. 6 goals conceded in two home games. I dread to think what the wage bill is at RB Leeds? 🤯 That first Boro goal was truly dreadful defending. Not one commits or even goes tight. They don’t pass the player on in any way and he just ghosts across all four of them with all the time in the world to pick a spot. That guy has never scored for Boro in nearly five years and then that happens! Hilarious. 😂

Town come first and foremost and I would never want L***s to lose if it was to the real detriment of Town.
That said in 99.9999% of instances I get great joy in them getting battered and so would most Town fans who grew up amongst the deluded, arrogant, arsehole chesties.
I have no issue with this thread - long may it continue.😂

I'm sure it's come up before but one thing I notice regularly is that Leeds must account for about 70% of all the football shirts I ever seen being worn. It's kind of like they have this deep inner urge to let everyone know they're a Leeds fan. Very insecure bunch if you ask me. Same with car stickers. It's an insecure cult where you need constant validation. During my recent stay at one of the region's finest caravan sites, I undertook some serious scientific research with my associates (son & son-in-law). The site is in easy reach of all the West & South Yorkshire clubs plus the likes of Middlesbrough, Derby, etc., so you'd expect a reasonable spread of support to be there. My conclusion is that being a Leeds fan is either a psychological disorder in itself, or having a psychological disorder makes you more likely to be a Leeds fan. We played a game over 2 or 3 days, Leeds v. Rest of the World, based on how many adult men we saw wearing a replica club shirt. The final score, in a rare victory for Leeds these days, was Leeds 19 RotW 6. The women's event was closer but still about 6-3 to Leeds. Showing that this condition deteriorates with age, the children's event was an easy RotW win, thanks to the abundance of Man City & Real Madrid shirts on display.

I got whacked in the eye with his when Lorimer's (?) retaken penalty was saved which meant my eyes were still watering when they fluked their late equaliser, so in my head we won 1-0.

I mean Leeds probably don’t have a Huddersfield related post with 260 odd pages on their forums come on. You can see what I mean. Be like if Bradford had that many posts about us.

Saw at least 15 fat 40+ blokes in mostly brand new Leeds shirts, and anyone else in any other football shirt was a kid.

Maybe that’s why fans dislike them so much, although a lot of this is pantomime stuff. I think we properly hate them, particularly the older generation who remembers the 70’s and 80’s. There is seriously no love lost between us.

My granddad told me they (in the 50s & 60s) used to alternate watching Town and L***s depending who was home or away that weekend. Can't imagine many doing that nowadays

Anyway, he has had a season card at Town for the last two seasons to go with his son. He also came to the pub on Saturday to watch the Posh match and he actually wants us to do well. He must be the exception though.

There was a spell in the 80’s where Leeds just rampaged wherever they went. Service Crew and all that. You had to have your wits about you going to Elland Road but Town gave as good as they got tbf.

As said earlier, my “hatred” of Leeds stems from the 70s. Those Leeds fans who downplay the rivalry are almost always not from south Leeds/HWD. I view it all as a bit of pantomime these days.

A particularly bad one was Bournemouth, millions upon millions (in today's money) of pounds' worth of damage, females sexually assaulted, kids targeted by grown adults. And typically the L***s hierarchy tried blaming the FA/FL rather than their own fans. L***s fans' attitudes stems from the top of the club, with corrupt Revie playing on it and making it worse.

Whichever one it was, I remember as a teenager watching fist fights break out absolutely everywhere. It was relentless. The police either couldn’t or couldn’t bothered to stop it and it was pretty scary in all honesty. I also remember been behind that big gate well after the final whistle and having to dodge the missiles thrown over. Bolts, bricks, coins; even a fucking bicycle chain came over! It was a different world.

A train full of Leeds' finest once stopped at Dewsbury station, on their way home from a game I presume and a few dozen of them decided to get off and pay us a visit. A mate of mine (who wasn't a footie fan) was waiting for a bus in Dewsbury bus station when they arrived and he was punched and kicked until he lost consciousness. Think this was in the 80's too. Safe to say that he's had a bit of a downer on that club ever since.
