There was a spell in the 80’s where Leeds just rampaged wherever they went. Service Crew and all that. You had to have your wits about you going to Elland Road but Town gave as good as they got tbf. A particularly bad one was Bournemouth, millions upon millions (in today's money) of pounds' worth of damage, females sexually assaulted, kids targeted by grown adults. And typically the L***s hierarchy tried blaming the FA/FL rather than their own fans. L***s fans' attitudes stems from the top of the club, with corrupt Revie playing on it and making it worse. People where in much better shape back then. I recon 80's rioters would do over the modern ones,

And yet...you've posted on it...are you obsessed?! I mean Leeds probably don’t have a Huddersfield related post with 260 odd pages on their forums come on. You can see what I mean. Be like if Bradford had that many posts about us. I promise you they do. But it’s full of shite about how we aren’t their rivals but Man Utd are 😂😂😂

Just out of interest. The majority of older posters despise leeds having grown up in the 70s and 80s.
I'm in my 40s and grew up with the smug arrogant bunch that won the league in the early 90s and had virtues of granduer about being a top champions league side.
Just wonder if there is such distain amongst some of the younger fans who grew up in the 2000s. When leeds were falling down the leagues and eventually met town in league 1.
Most leeds fans who I know that go to the matches are reasonable people and you can actually have a conversation with. Its still the armchair supporters that don't even know where Elland road is, that still fuck me off

A bloke from Mirfield who used to give me a lift in late 70s/early 80s said the same thing about the 50s, but added that Leeds Road was where the serious stuff was being played and Elland Road was just distraction. As said earlier, my “hatred” of Leeds stems from the 70s. Those Leeds fans who downplay the rivalry are almost always not from south Leeds/HWD. I view it all as a bit of pantomime these days. I don’t know if it was 82, 83 or 84 when it was bedlam from the train station to Elland Road and then the same going back. Whichever one it was, I remember as a teenager watching fist fights break out absolutely everywhere. It was relentless. The police either couldn’t or couldn’t bothered to stop it and it was pretty scary in all honesty. I also remember been behind that big gate well after the final whistle and having to dodge the missiles thrown over. Bolts, bricks, coins; even a fucking bicycle chain came over! It was a different world. That was after the 82' the milk cup game, you're right they ambushed us at every opportunity & they got hammered everytime (didn't last long) , the coppers just thought if you're so stupid to take this many on don't expect us to bail you out.........The only time I felt threatened was walking past the Hilton where the Aussie RL team watched us being escorted & Mal Meninga offered his giant hand to shake, he was bigger than the Hulk.

My boy is 15 and he hates Leeds as much as me. For him it's the kids at school. All the one's who "think they're hard" purport to support Leeds but none of them ever go to a game. Was pretty much the same when I was at school in the 80s.

Parked the car up by the Tommy Wass pub. The walk back was interesting 😉

They got a right pasting at Leeds road outside of the Town shop and on my deliveries in Leeds one ex member of the service crew who saw the Town sticker in my cab, said Town were one of the best firms they had come across but they were certainly crazy days. That riot at Birmingham was mental with one lad getting killed.

A few I work with reckon they're been asset stripped. They've apparently received more in fees than any other club in Europe this season and spent fuck all.
I did think it was odd when the billionaire 49ers entertained Red Bull, why would you need their investment? Wonder if things are worse than they appear.

A few of my L***s mates are worried about all the sales, but they don’t like it when I tell em it’s their own fault for overspending so much before that they have to recoup money to avoid FFP They can’t gamble on getting promoted as much as they could when Bielsa was manager, even then if they hadn’t gone up that season they’d have faced serious sanctions According to my L***s fan sis anyway

They've brought it on themselves whilst calling Leicester for doing the same, difference is, for them it paid off and it is a big difference. The other one is still in denial, claiming there's still plenty of time left and it's hard for them to sign players because they need to be the right ones.. "the shirt is too heavy for most to wear" and it scares most when they can bring 35k to a Carabao Cup game. Maybe they should look to sign some of the Boro players, they seemed to do okay 😂

I think we should can this thread but I’ll have my one and only post. Living in MIRFIELD and being mid 50’s and a bit, I’ve experienced the 80’s and live in a split area loyalty wise. The main hate for me is the Leeds fans in Mirf give it large when they’re winning, take the piss when we’re losing, but non of them actually go to watch them. They’ll tell you there’s a waiting list for tickets. My arse! Wankers. Hope they go bust.

I've said this before. Individually Leeds fans are normally OK. Get a group of them together, add alcohol, and they turn into instant arseholes😉

In my association with Battyeford football, every Leeds fan there is an armchair supporter and usually full of shite.

Perhaps Kevin Nagle might be able to provide some insight into their motives (or vice versa)...Jed North (co owner of 49ers investment group) progressed talks to pump into Sacramento Republic if their bid for the MLS expansion place was successful. Something not quite right about the whole thing for me.

Those dirty twats at Leeds probably thought they were going to be sponsored by the 69ers.

Facebook Monday/tuesday all about selling out for a round 1 league cup game and that the skip needs expanding. Today the 49ers are ripping the heart out of the club and they’re getting relegated 😂😂😂 They’re never very far away from giving me a chuckle.

But Mirfield is split down the middle and it’s like East Berlin in the 1960’s; you just don’t know who the Stasi are. Apart from the ill-fitting shirts. Huge car stickers. Talking shite loudly. Lack of deodorant. Still laughing when they say dog botherers.

I did think it was odd when the billionaire 49ers entertained Red Bull, why would you need their investment? Wonder if things are worse than they appear. It’s not asset stripping, they are just having to reduce their massive initial transfer outlays. Their outstanding transfer fees were circa £190 million. This is from the YEP: Up to the end of June 2024, Leeds will have been required to pay £73 million in outstanding transfer fees, leaving a £116 million figure that is due to be paid in future.

God knows who they were relating it to if they thought they'd done it on the cheap, Citeh perhaps?

That new Dirties shirt is absolute crap quality - work colleagues have bought them and say after just one trip in a car wearing a seatblet they "bobble up" and look shit Bit like their team really
They wont do much this season - Farke gone by XMAS and they will flirt with relegation.
