Poor performance but I think I'll get off here for a while with the doom mongers that will be on here shortly...
Onwards & upwards...

Sigh, well that's that. Looks as though we're in a position now where we have to count on those below and around us to cock things up if we want to stay up. .... and so far, they are cocking it up.

I'm almost glad the trains were cancelled today. If I had been able to make it I may have been even more depressed having had to endure that performance

It's going to be bloody depressing going to Wednesday, Leeds and Derby on a dreary January Tuesday night next season.

I thought we tried well enough but Palace have far better players and once we go behind and teams tighten up at the back we are pretty toothless.

Wagner to Dortmund? What utter garbage. He's been tremendous for us, but there is just so little tactical nous when things go tits up, which they often do, of course, in this division. He insists on taking Pritchard off, for instance, and where is Depoitre? Then there is signing Malone.....

Bottom line is if we go behind we lose. Need to scrape a couple of one nil wins. still very possible. can only really see West Brom, Stoke & Saints finishing below us now though...but that's all we need.

I wonder if we need to drop Mounie again, LDP playing in his spot atleast makes him work harder and maybe give the kick up the arse needed

Have to be honest and say Palace just have better quality in all areas of the pitch. I've been surprised how well Tomkins has played today though. This was always going to be a tough game even at home. Palace have some class in their team. Our trouble is we are too slow and play the same way from whistle to whistle. You cannot win games if you are not scoring and we are not scoring. Two consecutive seasons with an appalling goal tally. There must be a reason we cannot score and I don't think it is the strikers although they don't help themselves by not shooting oft enough.

That horrible moment of looking at your phone when the BBC goal update notification pings and seeing Town have conceded first as you know it'll be a long afternoon from then on.
I'm just hoping we put in a performance against Newcastle, especially if I get a ticket, as my Tuesday morning after Easter will be painful sitting in the office in Newcastle next to a Toon fan.

.... and so far, they are cocking it up. And long may it continue. Bit of perspective, we are not in the relegation zone and so simply have to not be bettered by the teams below us, that is not relying on them cocking. Southampton's run in is worse than us and Stokes I comparable, only their winnable games are against the other teams in it, bringing them down. Still more likely than not to stay up.

The way we attack is so so predictable at the moment. Massive two away games coming up and probably have to win 1 of them to stay up.

Final quality was poor all round today, we couldn't buy a clinical pass in the final third. Panic, lack of confidence, cold, who knows. But that was the poorest we have played for a while. Two weeks off to sort that shoit out. Hope Mooy gets plenty of game time in the Internationals to get his form back.

Ball delivery though, we just don't give ourselves a chance, and it's been like this for almost 2 seasons now...Even I can cross a ball beyond the first defender , with my slippers on...eyes shut...eating a pork pie....while texting my mate...

2 matches ago for him he was one of the best players on the park v Bournemouth But that's the point, at that game he had hit form again and then was injured and hasn't got back to that level yet So he hasn't been terrible for a while then. He wasn't terrible v Swansea so it seems that a while is actually 1 game.

.... and the game-defining moment was a bagatelle ball in the box. Fuck me.
At least Stoke lost. If they had won, this would have been a vastly bigger disaster.

18th place...Southampton or Town.
Doom and gloom here now but Stoke fans must be tearing their hair out - played two thirds of the game with 10 men, conceded but fought back to equalise and were "going all out for" the winner when their SELF-PROCLAIMED England No 1 goalkeeper Butland messed up to hand Everton a winner.
I wonder if "Chadders", the Stoke fan, will be on here tonight.
