Got a couple of nights by the D-day landing beaches. Respect will be paid mate! Went to Arromanches, where my Grandad landed, about six or seven years ago. Incredibly moving. Pontoons still out in the sea, all a bit eerie ... and, if you can stand it, the war museum in Caen is pretty amazing. reading other day about a private johns who lied his way into the army at 14 and took part in dday, parachuting into france. Lost his life aged 16. I bet there was even younger ones too. |

Just got back from Gozo. But off again to Sri Lanka for the one dayers in October plus a T20 in Columbo. It's a good life..TTID Went to Kandy the other year and went to Pallekelle for a test match against Pakistan. Loved it, only cost £2.50 to get in the VIP area as well! |

it was hot enough one day to sweat standing still in the shade, a lunatic ran past us in vest and shorts and shouted 'good morning, hot isnt it' in a english accent(possibly south west)
and we wonder why her indoors family are still suspicious of me after near on 30 years???

He really should have come back past the house as its on the coastal pathway and leads sort of nowhere unless you are running 25 miles plus?? If it hadn't have been so hot I would have gone looking for him, on the brother in laws quad...  |
