We arrived in Protaras in Cyprus a few hours ago. Here for a week to help look after our grandson whilst our daughter and hubby go to a wedding on Friday. Back home for a couple of weeks then cruise to Iceland and Norway. The usual fairly regular trips down to the cottage near Sidmouth as well.

Got to spend most of the summer working offshore to pay for the holiday we had in March! I’d love the chance to have just one more visit to a North Sea rig for old times sake. Well over 20 years since I last was on one. I’ve got a list of rigs I’ve been on somewhere...

There probable all still there and producing bar the Buchan alfa! It’s been interesting to watch how the N Sea has continued to hold up. Discoveries still being made. It was thought to be mature when I last worked it. My old company is having a reunion in a month’s time so it’ll be interesting to catch up.

Do they still do a day rover. If it's a serious question, yes they do. If it's not, I've heard Bradford is quite nice this time of the year.

Film and photography museum, proper curries. In fact every other town and city in West Yorkshire has something unique to visit except Hudds.

Went over only last Wednesday for a few pints, followed by a lovely meat special curry at Kashmir..

As it’s Town related. Going to James Hand’s 3 day wedding in Ireland in a few weeks. He’s marrying my sister in law. I was at his house near Cavan about 5 year ago, they had a new born. I was in the dining room with my missus, James was in the bedroom upstairs. I was telling my missus about James short lived career with Town. I was saying how I watched him come on as a sub at Oldham and he was dire, he was very poor, looked more like a rugby player and could see from that day he would never make it at Town. I was ranting on about how he could have been decent if he stopped drinking and eating crap all the time. I ended the conversation with ‘what a waste of a Town shirt’... at that point I saw the baby monitor in the dining room, switched on and connected to every other room, including the room James was in. Needless to say that night was awkward but James being the good lad he is saw the funny side after a gallon of Guinness and a few games of poker.

I remember him from when he was boarding with a friend.. let's just say that at that age he wasn't ready for acquitting himself as a professional footballer. Is he related to Eoin?

Nowhere. It'll save me a fortune. you will get bored of the sunshine the laid back lifestyle and the really nice people.. We had a year living abroad whilst her indoors had a 'career break' and it broke our hearts to come back.. I painted whitewash on houses from 6am to 9am and then did an hour or so each weekday after 6pm.. the elderly and any widows etc got it for free from the mayors office and I got paid almost nothing but it was the best job I have ever had.. we are just itching to go back once we get all sorted here..

Not sure if he’s related to Eoin, never mentioned it. His son is going to be a decent player if he carries on, Josh, about 14 now. Doing big things in Ireland but needs to come back over here now to push on further.

My in laws live on the Cavan/Fermanagh border and I got married at the Slieve Russell (which is in Cavan). My wedding was a couple of days also, the night after is the bigger drinking night... Would be decent to bump into him on a night out

I work in Bradford, and without fail each and every morning at 6.50am there is a number of Japanese tourists out taking pictures galore of the buildings and architecture. There must be something to keep them all interested - in fairness it's probably the Dales and Bronte country as part of their UK tour and they're all merely staying over in (what was) the Hilton Hotel the night before. But when you look at the buildings they are quite spectacularly built.

If I've got your post wrong I apologise my friend (some people just choose not to holiday) but everyone deserves a break

If anyone can lend me the "taxi" fare & chip in towards the accommodation costs, I quite fancy this:
