Harry Kane wouldn’t get double figures playing for us. Personally don’t think that chunking money on goal scorers is the answer. I tend to agree, it's more quality of service. Having said that, a different type of Striker would be good for try out even if off the bench. I think Nahki was underrated here and would like to have him in the squad to call upon off the bench. And yes I believe he wanted to go rather than us just selling him. Something a bit different to try other than the big target Man.

As last season wound on, many thought it was the supply line as being the reason behind our lack of goals & this turned out to be areas we invested in over the summer. I never thought & have said before that neither Mounie nor Depoitee look(ed) like getting into double figures whilst playing in the PL so was a little surprised we didn’t appear to be bringing another striker in, someone a little different to what we already have. Appreciate decent strikers don’t usually come cheap but goals win games, something we have sadly lacked for some time. I really hope we do our utmost to address this issue come January. However, based on recent performances, I am convinced we have enough in us to stay up again. We aren’t getting the rub presently but this will change and as long as we maintain our current level of performance, the results should follow. I do not see anything in our play as it stands to suggest we have had it and there are certainly at least 2 teams worse than us in Cardiff & Newcastle.

Struggling team need a Duncan Shearer type CF to come in and reignite the fire! Cost peanuts... Joey Jones recommended him. Long time ago but what an impact that lad had! Remember one game v WBA stood in East Stand, ball came to him and 'Thump!' that's the sound of ball heading at 100 mph in to the West Brom net!

Problem will be come January if we are looking for a striker everyone will want top dollar and we'd probably be forced to pay over the odds or bugger up the wage structure at the club.

Has it gone wrong? We are in the highest league since 1972. If we go down, we are in the Championship - still great competitive football. spot on andygolcar some on here really get ahead of themselves

I think people just look at the here and now (myself included). I think you kind of have to though. We are here in the prem in our second season. We deserve to be here and that is the standard that has been set. It's like man city just turning round when they get knocked out of the champions league and saying oh well, we should just be happy to be here, we were playing Gillingham not long ago. They can't do that, they have to look at where they are at now and what they should be aiming for and achieving. We have to do the same. Look at where we are and should be doing. You can't hide the fact that our transfer business hasn't been great, we have been really poor since February, conceding too many and not scoring or creating enough. But do we just forget all that and say nevermind, it was only 10 years ago we were playing Stockport! Saying that, we were also playing Leicester and Brighton.

The point made about the strikers is a valid one.
Some stats;
-Our top scorers this season are 2 CB's (1 who has only played a single PL game) and a central midfielder. -The leading all time scorer in our Squad (Kachunga), has 14 goals, but only 1 since promotion and even that was offside. -Harry Kane is the leading scorer of Premier League goals at our stadium!! Salah or Firmino could well join him after the 20th if either bags a hat-trick. -We have scored 1 league goal at home since we beat Bournemouth 4-1. If you are a fan who leaves before the 90th minute, you won't have seen a home goal in 8 months!!
If people don't think something has gone wrong, then i would hate to see it when it does. Fortunately we have time to turn it around again.
I like Otium am surprised an extra striker wasn't brought it. I can't see us bringing one in in January either so we will need Depoitre and Mounie to start getting some goals, and quick.

Lot of football to be played yet, am just keeping quiet...... It's worth noting, the Lad I see most of has been fine. Still able to have a sensible conversation with about our respective seasons. He isn't getting carried away.

Point 1. of eight. 1. The front-man. Not been addressed properly since Jordan Rhodes left. In surviving with the lowest number of goals ever scored in the Prem we should have made a striker (or two) the top priority. If you do not score you can get a maximum 38 points. The reality is you opponents will score in at least 65% of matches and you will end the season with 11 or 12 points. If you average a goal a game you have a 50% survival chance....these are simplistic scenarios but the conclusion is obvious. We have spent ÂŁ45 million this season...it should have been firstly on a striker. I would also argue that our defence is not good enough. The goal diffference stats pretty much confirm we conceed shit loads of goals. Also as I've stated before, you could put any World Class striker up front for us and we still would not score. Massive gaps between midfield and attack. Defence more often than not has more holes than a porcupines condom. Far better defences than ours would struggle in a side that doesn't score goals. Knowing that you HAVE to keep a clean sheet just to get anything from a game piles on the pressure

Fuck me, it awful watching Town play in the top division against the likes of City, United, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.
God, its terrible being the only team in Yorkshire in the top division.
Christ, I really don't know how I can keep watching the best team Town have had in 40-odd years.
Terrible times...

Then always assuming a target is indentified and said target costs big money, a massive decision has to be made by somebody. We genuinely serious about staying in the PL or happy to slip quietly away? Irrespective of where we are come January, our front 2 will still each be in single figures.
