Jan seemed to imply he wasn't as fit as he needed him to be. I was very impressed with the tempo yesterday and I'd hazard a guess it's a fair bit different to league one. Looking forward to seeing more of him. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards One thing I'll never understand is why managers will say new transfers aren't playing much because it's fitness concerns. Like did they not need to be fit at their previous club? Makes some sense due to JS'style of play but every manager seems to make that comment. link

Was he offside? Not seen a conclusive angle, he looked pretty much level to me

He was offside. Surprised they gave it him Think the arsenal defender kicking it puts him back on side. Stupid rule but hey ho Still puts him joint top scorer in the striker role.

It’s irrelevant if he was offside as the panel only decide who got the last touch, the ref decides offside or not

Yeah not sure on the second phase rule when it comes to defenders. There was a lot of debate after that Tottenham goal at Anfield last season Good on him for claiming it though, a nice boost to his February pay packet too

Like you say: Good for him.

He was offside. Surprised they gave it him It's about time we had something controversial go for us rather than against us for a change, although it meant nothing as Arsenal still won.

My immediate reaction at that time was that it brushed off Grant into the net.

My immediate reaction at that time was that it brushed off Grant into the net. To be fair to him he was adamant it touched his knee as it was going in. Suited for the lad, well done Karlan, hope it's the first of many.

No issue with his first PL goal - Peter Withe won the European Cup for Villa with a shank off his shin...

linkCould get his first start today, I hope so - UTT I don’t want to be trailing all the way up to Newcastle for me to see either Mounie or LDP start the game. Jan has to start Grant, absolutely no excuses.

We may as well have loaned him straight back to Charlton. Playing every week and scoring in league 1 is way better than sitting on the bench and watching 2 donkeys in Mounie and Depoitre playing ahead of him.

Poor lad must be stunned watching an overweight donkey starting games ahead of him.
