Reece Brown, I watch a fair bit of Forest Green (they are a vegan club and I’m vegan, the chairman is also a huge climate change activist) and this lad is easily Championship material. 11 goals, 15 assists or something crazy like that. 23 and out of contract so I think a fee must be agreed but a real dynamic, creative force. Well worth a punt and fits our profile. What is a vegan club? No meat in the pies. Gum boots instead of leather. Plastic match ball. No milk in the tea at half time. No cheesy music before kick off. Vegemite not Bovril. No players nicknamed 'Burger'. Rumours they are after Declan Bacon from Alfreton Town vehemently denied.

Ans: Ask them a question about anything and they will incorporate it into their answer!

Vydra and wells are up for sale at Burnley. If we can offload mounie would you take a punt on either of them? Not for me - both past their sell-by dates. In hindsight, and as much as I castigated his profligacy, I now think that Wells could have "done a job" for us in 2017-18. Cue abuse.

(God, I sound like a Leeds fan talking about their kids crying and adding the disclaimer that he’s a right hard bastard and definitely not a poof or owt.) Go to a game and do the Eco Trails before the game, their stadium tour, going through all the green initiatives in the stadium, like solar panels on one of the stands (18% of the electricity is generated by them), the mo-bot (lawnmower!) and the bee habitats. I hope they go up this season, but losing Reece would be a huge blow, especially for free, but great for us, and they’d get a fee due to his age. I think.

All food and drink is vegan, throughout the club, including for players, the new stadium is made of 100% green, vegan sources (wood structure), the glasses are potato starch rather than plastic so compostable, the chairman, Dale Vince, is currently working with the UN on sustainability in sport, something I think all clubs should be doing, to help tackle climate change. The Q pie (Quorn) at the stadium is amazing, as is the burger, right spicy.

New stadium does look epic, only 5,000 capacity with the ability to expand to 10,000, but I suppose they have the smallest population of any league club, under 5,000 for the whole town I think I read. Lovely part of the world though.

Would've played the second striker role in the 5-3-1-1 a lot better than Pritchard did. We've missed his work rate and build up play since he left. He wouldn't have helped on the goalscoring front though.

HITC is frequently a made up pile of wet arse, which is a shame because that lad looks to have something about him:

HITC is frequently a made up pile of wet arse, which is a shame because that lad looks to have something about him: You can see not just his goals and assists but his movement and eye for a pass, he starts so many movements that end in a goal. He’s number 10 if you watch this.

You had your doubts about Wagner when he first started I recall, maybe its a a lucky omen. I had doubts about Wagner for 2 matches .. which was actually to do with the fact that I felt (And still feel ) that Powell had been given a bit of a bum deal.. I was totally up for giving siewert a go and my analysis , correct or otherwise is based on that Chris Powell very nearly had me looking for something else to do of a Saturday, absolute dross, got what he deserved IMO

Tbh if we hadn't gone down a different path I don't think we would ever have got higher than about 15th in the championship But he was undermined and the amount of spending power was miniscule compared to his successor . But hey ho it's history now

I saw some of the most mind-numbingly boring football ever played under him. Usually against teams we should have been looking to have a go at. I often found myself talking with lads around me, not even watching the match when he was in charge. Conversely, he often let the shackles off when we played a team nearer the top of the league. And we nearly always played much, much better - whatever the result. Sadly, it didn't happen very often, and the difference in performance levels/entertainment when Wagner took over - even when he was initially struggling for results - was amazing. It was like watching a different game.

I don't think any other English manager would have done to be fair.

Talk of no meat in the pies reminds me of those super-heated-slurry efforts sold at the back of the main terrace back int' day. They were called
"Meat & Potato"
for a while until labelling laws caught up with them one season and then they were
"Potato & Meat"
The next season they were just called
"Pies"
So there's nowt new, we were vegan then and we didn't even know it.

Went to FGR fairly early in their first season in the league v Exeter. Interesting club and you’ve got to respect them. The veggie burger was top notch and there was a stall outside the ground selling samosas, bhaji’s and vegetable curry. In a nice village, but that hill up to the ground is long and very, very steep. Think I’ll go again next season.
