He’s on ridiculous wages and I expect would cost around £8-10 million. I can’t see us spending that kind of money tbh. If we manage to pull it off it would be a great signing, but it won’t happen unfortunately. More likely us getting Wells back tbh.

Could see vydra on loan making sense, but cant see it making sense for Burnley.

It's all relative.... we have a 18m pound defender and 14m attacker along with two 10m pound wingers.. Powell had a 500k misfit from Middlesbrough and a 1m pound Bradford city striker. How many goals did we score under Wagner in the last 1 and 1/2 seasons? In the end he didn't really turn out much different to Powell, just with a bit of grayson/Clark in his early days. Seiwert at least seems to be 100% committed to attacking 433.... if he changes to a 541, well then that's just what happens at Town. Even in the championship Wagner played the defensive block.... was it at Bristol? Wednesday at home In the playoffs? He got the results, but his free flowing football was at the start of the championship season and the first 4 or 5 games of the premier league, he was defensive and quickly reverted to stopping the opposition scoring as his default position. It is all relative... & Liverpool's goalie cost more than our team Thanks for bringing that up... approx 4.5 times our record transfer at the time.. Andrei grey went for 11m to Burnley when our record was 1 million for wells.. 11 times our record.. 11 times the kongolo fee would be comfortably a premier league record.

Don't know much about Vydra, but the stats suggest he has only had 1 decent season in the last 4, so would be a risk for me.

He has a great goal scoring record at championship level for Derby. 73 appearances and 26 goals for Derby. That’s less than 1 goal every 3 games. He would be an excellent signing IMO.

Any outgoings or incoming likely this week? My guess is that until the takeover is signed sealed and delivered, not likely to have any significant happenings.

Any outgoings or incoming likely this week? According to my sources there will be some significant club news and a significant outgoing transfer. The lad i get a lot of info off reckons we are close on a couple of deals, but will be towards back end of the week early next if everything works out, one of the names previously linked, the other from Germany.

My source say's we're trying to get a guy from the planet earth and he might even be a footballer, it's close but not a done deal yet. Sometime between now and the end of the window he's certain of that.

The vibe among the American crowd was that he could challenge Tommy Smith, Flo Hadergjonaj and Demeaco Duhaney for a spot in Jan Siewert's Championship side. Yeah, ok 🤣🤣🤣

I'd take 20 million and I suspect Dean / Phil would too.

I'd take £20m for a 29 yr old, not that anyone would bid that but £10m would be a very good fee even though we'd be losing a top man and player.

Thats your opinion And absolutely thank fuck we got shut of him as we were going nowhere. Tbh if we hadn't gone down a different path I don't think we would ever have got higher than about 15th in the championship But he was undermined and the amount of spending power was miniscule compared to his successor . But hey ho it's history now Fair points, but even with greater financial backing, Powell would never have had us playing like Wagner did. He wouldn;t have been as successful. But never really got the boredom tag Powell gets. Certainly not compared to wagner whos side seemed much less gung-ho and more cautious to me. In Powells only (almost) full season here in 14/15 we actually scored more than Wagners side did in getting promotion, even though they were obviously no where near as good. Think the boring perception is mainly down to results than a lack of attacking, chance-creating football.

He was what we needed at the time.
