Some interesting reading here for all those that think throwing money at signing would have worked www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=4gq43bc3ebaaoumh2h78j53mg0&topic=70809.0100m did not keep this club up and now that will be in serious difficulty and desperate to offload in the summer or run the real risk of losing all thie parachute payments (whicj will be less than Towns as they only stayed for 1 year Dean is absolutely spoy on when he says that it has to be run with common sense.....we can all wish he had poured million s more in but thats easy for fans when its not their brass they are chucking away. Scott Parker - "when a club gets relegated from The Premier League, you know there are some serious issues". What a nonsensical thing to say. Maybe if a club gets relegated from League 2 but the PL?

Everyone points to lack of 'a decent striker' been the main reason we are down. What's the best we could hope for at our level? Look at the leading scorer charts. Outside of the top 6 we have Vardy on 13 goals, King and Murray for BOU and BHA on 11 each, Barnes for BUR on 9. Realistically if we are pinning our hopes on our striker achieving the same as teams just outside the relegation zone, that would the points return be for another 7 goals, which would give us the grand total of 25? Would we realistically have gained an additional 16 points from those 7 goals ? Hugely unlikely as chances are a couple at least would still be scored in a defeat. The fact is, goals have to come throughout the team, our midfield have been just as woeful in terms of goals, so to conclude our strikers are solely responsible is nonsense.

Maybe what Parker meant to say was 'When a club that's spent what we have...' but then though tbetter of it. Not that I can see him in his current role come the start of next season.

The biggest failure of this season were the shite summer signings who were supose to be the strength and depth of the club to cover for injuries , players showing poor form , and of couse suspensions Wagner as manager surely had the last say in these players It actually ended up being more of a case of shite for shite sub replacements especially in the strikers role I would like to ask the person as to what he/she saw in those summer signings to make him/her believe that they had the skills to make it at the highest level of English football . Very bad business which proved to be a very costly mistake in the end Hindsight is great isn't it....especially if you're deluded to start with Hindsight ? Think you'll find many were questioning why a striker or two werent brought in , we were doomed by the signings and the lack of them last summer

Hindsight is great isn't it....especially if you're deluded to start with Hindsight ? Think you'll find many were questioning why a striker or two werent brought in , we were doomed by the signings and the lack of them last summer On the face of it, after the event, in hindsight, we should have got another striker but that may have needed either Mounie or Depoitre to be sold to balance the books a bit? Maybe the striker we might have wanted wasn't available, or went elsewhere? The club went down the route, which was perfectly acceptable at the time, that if we improved the service to the strikers we already had then we would create more chance and perhaps score more goals, and get more points. However, the 'wingers' we brought in weren't up to the task and/or Wagner decided he didn't like them and therefore the transfer policy last Summer was in essence wasted. I'm sure it's a lesson learned and something that will be taken into account in the subsequent transfer windows, and going forward Town will be more prudent, or tweak their requirements and thought process a bit. Having said that for the first few months of the season I (and maybe plenty others) thought we were playing much better as a team but just weren't getting the rub of the green. Then Mounie got sent off, and the wheels came off. Wagner lost his mojo. Dean was in hospital. The club was rudderless and without the drive of the two men who had revolutionised our club. That is the crossroads moment when it went wrong, rather than the summer. In my mind anyway.

True but its not just the goals the striker gets that makes a difference. Its his movement that leaves gaps for others. Its him forcing keepers to make tough saves that drop to team mates for them to score. And better results boosts the whole team. Bad results seem to breed more bad results as confidence disappears. You look back on our season and there are just so many games where we have taken nothing despite creating good chances and dominating. Games like Bournemouth away where we created a steady stream of good chances even. Just having somebody with the ability to put them in the net at any kind of reasonable rate would have made all the difference for us IMO. Our 2 main strikers in Mounie and Depoitre have TWO goals combined from FORTY-NINE league appearances between them this season! That is so bad, it almost defies belief! A strategically placed bag of builders sand would have scored more!
