no one cared enough to build on what we had achieved surviving thats what happened. And thats not a dig at any single person but all those connected with the club. Wagner the unsackable was allowed to dig his heels in and not play any of the new players and go all defensive which didnt work despite been competitive for long periods we lacked a cutting edge. Players who had given their all week in week out lost confidence with the constant defeats Other players couldnt be arsed putting the effort in and wrote us off Unsackable manager who had been allowed to gamble with our future decided he didnt want the stain of relegation on his cv Hoyle ill all season could do little from his hospital bed demonstrating those left to run the club in his absence have hardly covered themselves in glory and competency. New manager wants to move the ball forward quicker but the play it sideways and backwards mentality now entrenched in even our better players proves a great stumbling block. Will we ever score a breakaway goal ? Groundhog day infinity sets in Relegated with months to go in a season where only our fans can hold there heads high for fantastic support noted by many

Not sure what the previous post has to do with this year’s pre season.
Anyway, seems very early, if players are returning June 30th. Maybe Accrington and Bury will be there too.

And why spout off on this thread.

Before anybody books a nice break away watching Town it would be worth looking at what the squad will be ,may be a youth squad if recruitment does not improve

Anyone been here before? Is it worth the trip over? Went with the family the pre season after promotion and had a great time. The place is beautiful with lots to do and it helped that the weather was scorching. Those who went more for drinking seemed to be having a decent time as well. We got cheap flights to Nuremberg and drove from there.

Anyone been here before? Is it worth the trip over? Went last season with my lad, flew to Munich and then train to schwaz where Town played R B Leipzig. Two nights in Munich split by a night in schwaz. We really enjoyed it, and the ground in schwaz has a great water park behind it where me and the lad spent most of the day after the game before we went back to Munich. Train down to schwaz was brilliant, train back a nightmare as it was packed. We had a great boys trip though, he looked after me in schwaz cos I had a fair bit of ale at the game! I'd recommend it, the town players were really good with my lad after the game, patiently having pics taken and signing autographs.

Thanks for the feedback . Looks a lovely part of the world. Its stunning, and very hot while we were there. Schwaz is a bit dull for a place to be based in, I was glad we only had one night there. If we go this time I think we'll go to kirchberg rather than schwaz.

Considering the fixtures won't be announced until much nearer the time, where would people advise as the best place to stay in order to stand the most chance of being in traveling distance to a match?

If you wanted a location that would be a great holiday even if Town weren’t playing I’d recommend Salzburg – Salzburg pass is good value. Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Fountains is well worth a visit – one of many free attractions on the card. www.salzburg.info/en/hotels-offers/salzburg-card/free-admissionAlso close to other attractions – Eagles nest, Salt mines etc

Flying to Saltzburg is nearer but flying to Innsbruck is quicker .Some reasonably priced hotels in Kirchberg .Beautiful part of Austrian Tyrol .

Looking at the number of potential outgoing transfers, we might struggle to play a 11 vs 11 in training in Austria, Physios and kit man will have to make up the numbers.

Town trained in Brixen im Thale and played there v Bologna last year. RB Leipzig game was in Schwaz. I stayed near Zell am See last year, which was very nice but a good hour and a half away - so might try and stay nearer Innsbruck this time.

Could be an issue this year with the usual local Bury friendly as they seriously could be going to the wall (maybe it’s why we’ve changed to Rochdale).
There’s a rumour going round that Notts County have been tipped the nod that there is a possibility that they have to prepare for L2 campaign.

Fabulous place .Just returned home ,for a few days, after a wonderful holiday in the Austrian Tyrol. The last part of our travels took us to Stans which is very near to where Town are going to be for pre season training .Stunning .Still lots of snow on the Alps but apart from two wet days weather was great . So if you go hope you enjoy your stay as we have just done .

Couple of games annonunced: www.htafc.com/news/2019/june/town-to-face-greuther-furth-in-austria/Only been through Fürth once, twas on my way to Bamberg for their annual beer festival. Odd fact about the town of Fürth is that their town hall chimes out the tune of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" every day at mid-day. Just checked who else from Germany is going to Austria, nr. to where we are and at the same time, and so far it's: Werder Bremen, FC St Pauli, Darmstadt 98. Wouldn't mind if it were St Pauli (often seen as a cult club in Germany owing to their almost exclusively left-wing following). Really hope the incomings and outgoings have been sorted by then, just to get an idea of who will be competing for a place in Town's 2019/20 side.

Any fans going have about three hours to get from one venue to the other. Will that be possible by public transport? PS Just had a look at the map - probably can be done - looks like they're less than 20km apart
