Everton. How’s he managed that? His Christian name will be great when pronounced in scouse... Not sure if the use of the word pronounced and scouse in the same sentence is acceptable though...

Well he certainly isn't going to get much first team football there. Bench-warmer.

Hes nothing special but hes good enough to be the back up keeper at a club like everton, though he might even be the back up to the back up.
If he joins them hes basically putting a bit more money ahead of actually playing in his list of priorities. Thats his choice.

Steve Harper was one of the best keepers to ever play for Town, but chose to spend the majority of his career as Shay Given's backup. Maybe he thought he'd be in prime position if someone came in with a big money offer for Given. Unfortunately for Steve, that never happened. Perhaps Lossl is thinking the same way about Pickford.

so he refuses to play in the championship so he can play in the stiffs at everton. seems a weird choice to me. i presume everton pay their reserves more than we'd pay a first teamer.

And he's probably changed his mantra from " fed-up of losing" to " fed-up of playing".

Not sure why some are so surprised at this.
Jonas Lossl is a bloody good keeper and a more than adequate backup keeper for a club like Everton.

One of my favourite away grounds and areas, a superb greasy spoon cafe on the main street before the big spoons, even though I like Liverpool fc. Great move for him but imo hes not good enough.

And this shows the gap between our old PL world - bottom 6 - and even the mid-table clubs. Leicester pay £12m? for Danny Ward as a reserve keeper. Everton get a reserve keeper fresh from 2 years in the PL and currently in Denmark’s international squad.
We get Ben Hamer, who....er, once did OK with Charlton. 😊

Westwood is staying at wednesday so hope we find a decent keeper because Hamer is rubbish.

I find it so strange that people in life choose MONEY in front of living life to the FULL extent. I listen to so many people who say yes but wouldn’t you go do this if they were increasing your pay packet. The answer is simple No , I am quite a wealthy person but throughout my life have chosen living and life in front of money, we are only on this planet once why would you want to sit watching football with so little time of his career left when he could be playing . Greed for money which he will regret when his footy life is over. Fool!!!

Harpers a good example. A wasted career in football terms. A brilliant career in financial terms. Lossl isn;t good enough to be the No 1 keeper at a club like Everton, so even if Pickford were to leave, i think theyd immediately go out and buy in a replacement. Hed basically be short term cover for injuries or suspensions at best IMO.

Cos of his age, I doubt he'll even play for the stiffs that much. He could sign a 3 year deal with everton and barely play a game in all that time.

Now is the time to think about his family and future, football is a precarious career anyway and could end in an instant. Hindsight is wonderful for the wealthy.
