Can't believe some of the stuff on here. Of course there's a long way to go, but the skills and movement the top teams demonstrate now is pretty impressive.
I said earlier in the thread that I thought this game could find them out, but fair play, they brought their A game and deserved that win.
I don't think that behind the scenes France or the US will be thinking they're headed for an easy game.

The defending is so bad. They shouldn't be playing on full size pitches because they can't cover the ground quick enough so there's always massive gaps everywhere. You can see 10 seconds before hand exactly what's going to happen It's amazing that the games don't finish with double figure score lines but that's probably more to do with the attacking players not being able to kick it properly For someone with such a negative view of the women’s game, you seem to watch a lot of it. It's not often I agree with Kongolo but on the evidence I saw when they replayed the goals, he's spot on this time. |

I thought you were on about David Beckham for a minute until you didn't mention he thinks he has the right to drive with impunity from prosecution. I really enjoy watching the women's football. My nine year old daughter has been asking when the England matches are on and really enjoys them. She plays for Linfield, and there appears to be loads of girls who play and train three times and more a week, the standard is going to boom in a few years. Anyone know how to get a cheap England women's youth top? I think they missed a trick by not keeping the price down and getting as many out there. She will have to keep wearing her town tops Will and wait for the sale. |

I mean I can understand the Panama game, but in normal circumstances, the day I celebrate an England game in the quarters like that or a big Town game, is the day I stop going altogether. I get some of you old boys like to stand up and just applaud, but some of us like to let it all go and fall down some steps when necessary. Granted I won’t do it on the 6th goal v Panama or when Town go 5 up against Brackley in the FA Cup. |

France getting more impatient as the half went on causing too many misplaced passes. USA are a tough athletic side though and can press when needed. Still only a goal in it though.
