A good watch though. England look to have a lot more attacking structure than 4 years ago Not hard. Mark Sampson just had them hoofing the ball up the pitch. At least Neville wants them to pass it to each other. |

Fair point. Though they got some flattering results with the direct approach they regressed in certain areas than previously under Powell.

Probably watches women's 100m Olympic final and can only comment that they don't run as fast as the blokes... Absolutely.. why is it football is the only sport which brings out the blokes saying "they aren't as good as men " .. No shit Sherlock Women's tennis is as good to watch as the mens, they're technically just as good Women's football (and not just the pace of the game) is a million miles behind the men. There's been instances in all the games so far that have made me laugh out loud The men's C team world cup should get far more coverage than this rubbish does |

Even after accepting that Women’s Football is a separate game in its own right, it’s difficult not to draw comparisons with the men’s game. I saw the majority of today’s England v Scotland game and it looked about the same standard as a couple of top-end District League teams from the 90s/00s when I was playing. Plenty of individual skill and application, but error-strewn and questionable fitness levels towards the end. Also, the standard of goalkeeping is light-years away from the standard of outfield play.
As with most tournament football though, most of the enjoyment is in the result. Keep winning and progressing, and the enthusiasm to watch will stay high. If England go out early then they might as well stick the games on BBC2 at 2.00am after the 1970s Open University repeats.

On a serious note why is the women's game "a million miles" behind the men's game ? I've seen more attempts to play decent football (pass, move,attack) than in many many Premier league matches this season, not even considering the rubbish that Town have served up.Two of Sterling's misses today would have been mercilessly mocked if it had been a women's match. Want to bet that the Women's world Cup final will be a lot more entertaining than watching Europe's finalists Liverpool and Spurs a short while ago ? |

I therefore watched the games and it turns out they were talking bollox and it's still as comical as it always has been. That said, some of the keepers can catch it now This penalty earlier summed it up. Keeper goes 10 hours early and the taker still rolled it to that side. |
