Are we in any position to take the piss out of female goalies when we employ Ben Hamer 🤨 I'd say so. Most male keepers have the ability to catch the ball and make a half decent attempt to save a shot. They don't have that in the women's game.

these are the best women footballers in the world.. its a bit like watching non league football and being annoyed about the lack of skill ..
watch a football match for what it is, it says what it is on the telly listings..
Women's World Cup..you will see women playing at 'their highest level', you will not see a professional mens game..
Hope we win the cup and every girl in the country wants to play and watch football...the 'build up' for the competition was not overblown in relation to the mens one, there are a great many very excited ladies who are excited about female football, quite rightly..
We all wanted to be George Best or Bobby moore, it was never very likely but it made us love the game..girls might watch the premier mens game but they can now aspire to try and play at 'their' top level.. always room for more players, definitely room for more supporters..

At least they don't feign injury at a slight touch & roll all over the place trying to get a free kick.

Bloody hell.. for once I understand you . And .. gulp .. agree with every word you say ... bravo sir The threads on here about women's football are a disgrace and yet another indicator why you get more town players in the opposition box than women on datm

Nor does Hamer, Danny Ward struggled with those too unless it was in a shoot out Hence I said "Most male keepers". If I go to watch Ossett United in the Northern Premier League, I know that the keepers will be able to catch the ball and save shots. They might make mistakes, but for the most part, they can do the basics right. Even the very best female keepers in the world struggle to do some of the basics and wouldn't be fit to wash the Ossett United keeper's kit. Female footballers have less ability than men. It's as simple as that. Hope Solo's plea for female footballers to get paid the same as men is laughable. Men get paid so much more because the men's game is more marketable, is of a higher quality, has more support, generates greater revenue. I'm sure the women's game will keep progressing and getting better, but they will never get close to the men's game by any measurable criteria.

At least they don't feign injury at a slight touch & roll all over the place trying to get a free kick. Don't worry they will catch up eventually, once the money ramps up.

To be fair they are all better than you .. and could probably give you a good game at countdown too till Lev Yashin/gordon banks etc the goalkeeping position in the mens game did not seem to have 'specialised training programmes etc'...the whole 'art' has come a long way since.. we are now looking to play 'goalie when neccessary' to some extent so the ladies have even further to catch up in this position.. nice to see footballers on a world stage who have not been 'conditioned' into believing their own hype and importance and the money is not their god given 'talents' right... it will change, enjoy the love of playing and wanting to win for it's own sake..

Our lass was a Town fan from being a child. Her love of the game and her club led her to play for her University team . It for her was just the pure enjoyment of being able to do so. She was and still is a petite lass and bonny as they come ( ok I am biased but she is ) She also is a fiery little sod ,just like her mum,and if some of the comments on here about" tottie , tittie" were said to her face she would crush your nuts . Just accept that women do like to play and watch football.

Bottom line for me is that once the club football season (including play-offs & European finals) are done, I’ve generally had my fill til August unless there’s a World Cup or Euros on & England are there. No interest in Nations League, women’s WC or even pre-season friendlies on the whole. This has only been heightened after the grot of a season we’ve had too. Quite happy with a bit of cricket or golf until the new season rolls round.

I see the England number 3 had the best false eyelashes. The wife threw something at me when I suggested that if she lost one whilst heading the ball they'd stop play and all gather around to search for it.

At least they don't feign injury at a slight touch & roll all over the place trying to get a free kick. Yes, this was brilliant. The namby pamby professional male footballers trying to gain an advantage at every opportunity could learn from this, but I doubt they will.

If the England No 18 had a pair of bollocks she would probably have been better up front for us last season!

I think that we need to take a step back and look at men's and women's football as different interpretations of the same game. Both are enjoyable for different reasons. The women are fit, skilful, less demonstrative, but if you compare this to the men's game, the two are poles apart. They could be different sports.
What is annoying is that it is the BBC #Metoo equality agenda which is aiming to make them both equal. An example of this is their fixation with crowd numbers for women's football, something you don't hear from commentators/pundits in the men's game. As someone mentioned earlier, if women's football was the next big thing, Sky would have hoovered up the rights long ago.
