Winkler was given das boot, as a kid he was probably the one found hiding in the bike sheds having a crafty fag. New man inbound next week. Wonder what the hell he has done to get sacked, very bad carry on, the club is self imploding. He probably told Siewert he did not have a clue what he is doing!

It is a shambles and this without a ball being kicked. When we sack Siewert after ten games and we’re in the bottom three it’ll look a whole lot worse I see that happening as well.

I’m a little concerned with what is going on at the club presently but not in meltdown...yet. The next 2 weeks are vitally important & I can see a number of announcements on signings, a new assistant being named, shirt sponsor being sorted, etc. Let’s at least give the club a little more time before going overboard about backing us for relegation into League 1. Stop talking sense man! don't you know this is the big red panic button thread!

Our hand was forced a bit by waiting for OPE to make a decision but anyone with a brain would know they only sponsored us because of the exposure the Premier League gives. We should have been working on a new deal since relegation was obvious in March It sounds like we're down to negotiating with 2 now but they don't want to pay what we want. Apparently one is PaddyPower. Shirts will be delayed if something isn't sorted soon If I were a potential sponsor, I would not want to waste time and effort on negotiating a deal in the knowledge that OPE had an option they could exercise. I think you are being unfair on SJ. Unless he was the one who negotiated the contract that gave them the option presumably?

No surprise that the anti Siewert posters are out in force having a go at both him and the club in general. Even Sean Jarvis is getting stick because there's no announcement on a shirt sponsor yet. How do we know that's not been agreed yet?
Winkler hasn't been at the club since the end of last season, but no-one on here had a clue. If there had been some big issue behind the scenes it would have leaked out before now.
Why can't the reason for Winkler leaving be as simple as the fact that didn't enjoy the role? He was the assistant rather than the DOF he was both at Barnsley and when he worked with Siewert before.

Get 20 quid on Town to be relegated, I'm feeling a little uneasy at the minute. That’s the spirit

Just researched Colin Bell, admittedly mainly just through Wiki. He doesn't seem to have been involved with men's football for 7 or 8 years and had a rather chequered career as coach to men's football teams before that.
Watched a few interviews on You-tube - done ok for the Irish girls but seems an absolute world away from professional men's football. I'll be amazed if he has any knowledge of Championship football in England.
Obviously deserves a chance but silly haircut and streaks in his hair at 57 years of age is rather worrying ...

Cheers. I genuinely didn’t know and was wondering what I had missed. If there is nothing lined up yet then I agree with Kongolo as being a bit of a poor do. Shirts will be delayed if something isn't sorted soon Home of the Money Back Special. Get promoted at the first attempt or we want our money back

When ever our club appoint new personal whether it be backroom staff, players, or new owner, people on here seem to know best, and go into this doom and gloom scenario.
For God's sake people running our club ain't stupid, it seems to me the club know the players and staff they are chasing to appoint, to get this club on course for a good crack at challenging for promotion again.
Have trust and belief and see what blooms.

Bell is an interesting appointment. I didn't know anything about him but I don't think anyone on here did. Siewert's words about him seem good, they've worked together before, he also appears to have a speciality with bringing young players through. Although he's not worked in the men's game for a while he has good pedigree with his previous jobs. I reckon anything near Siewert's hard arse management style wouldn't be effective for someone working in women's football for approaching 10 years. Maybe he's the good cop. Maybe I'm making assumptions on someone I've only heard of 5 minutes ago

A forum well known and respected in the football world for it's clear headed analysis of facts, in depth research, and articulate expressions of opinion.
