Looks like he can add Wednesday to the list of clubs he's ditched to join another for more money
I also noticed that they're the latest club to fudge their accounts by selling off the stadium to the owner. They'd have made a huge loss last season otherwise and fallen foul of ffp

Didn't they wait a month or so for him to join as well because of personal reasons. He has really shit on them there.

One glance at his management record tells you all you need to know about his values.
Presumably he'll be paid a fortune, and spend a fortune, at Newcastle.
How many years did it take us to recover from his management spell here, and how much did he "earn" here ? Had us playing good football for, what, 3 months and then nearly destroyed us.

Not often we see sympathy for Sheffield Wednesday on this board.
As per the established parlance, I hope all parties involved go bust. 😀

when i think of some of the shithouse managers we've had at least we haven't collected McClaren, Allardyce, Bruce and Pards in a relatively short time-span.

Bruce is only crap at football management because he spends all his time writing incredible crime novels.

I don’t think spending money is part of the job description under Cashley !

From Rafa to Bruce? Newcastle will be imploding tonight. They’ve been imploding all day in our office up here. Really weird that my Geordie colleagues don’t want him near their club and my Wednesday supporting mates want to keep him. Just seems Ashley wants to antagonise the locals a little bit more than he already has. Mind, I’ve heard that Chansiri has put a £5m compensation price on Bruce and his team. Knowing how tight Ashley is that could make him think again.

How the hell does Bruce keep getting jobs ?
The manager roundabout is a joke.
Hope they get relegated. Only positive is that Wednesday start again

Clubs are far too prepared to fail in a 'traditional' manner rather than risk success in a 'non-traditional' manner. It continues to baffle me that these football players are given manager job after manager job based on the status they achieved as players. The jobs are nothing like. A famous man once said "You don't have to have been a horse to be a jockey". The same applies to football management, but Clubs are scared to think outside the box, fearing the wrath of fickle fans.

Bruce does have 4 promotions and an FA cup final with Hull City on his CV. Didn't he take Wigan to there highest ever position? A cheque book manager I agree but I'm not surprised he keeps getting jobs.

Perhaps I chose the wrong thread but it's been on my mind a lot over the last couple of days and I really needed to put my thought in writing!

Bruce is a good football manager. People might not want to accept that if they have a dislike of him, but his track record over many years proves that. Hes had failures but his successes far outweigh them.
Im not surprised Ashley wants him and im not surprised he would want to go there. Its a big step up from his current job and theyre a club dear to his heart.

Up until the Stewart sale, the first half of his first season in charge was one of the most enjoyable I've seen during my time watching Town. That 7-1 win over Palace will live long in the memory. I'm sure we would have got at least a play off position had it had not been for that disastrous transfer. He's got a good record of getting teams up and consolidating their position IMO. I'm not sure he's the type to 'coach' a team to promotion, or develop younger players. He does seem to need a decent transfer budget, but there are a hell of a lot worse managers than Bruce.

Allardyce got the call before Bruce and had a quick think about it and said "Thanks, but no thanks".
Not one signing this summer, loanees gone back, Perez sold, Diame released. No wonder the bookies fancy them for relegation.
Unfortunately I can see them coming sniffing for Mooy.
