Everyone going with a similar team bar 1/2 changes. You just know we'll end up seeing a team that we don't anticipate and have an uproar before it's kicked off. Mooy on the bench, Quaner starting, Hamer up front & Efe Sodje at the back. Hopefully Rvlp will start as he is one of best players !

Just had a quick look on the Derby forum & they seem to think looking on here we're all over confident & we'll smash them? I don't get that tone at all? Yes most are cautiously optimistic but what supporters aren't the first game of the season? Anyway, I'm going for a 4-0 dismantling of the Rams What about the second half?

The exciting thing about this game is that it can go either way. I'm sure most of the 4-0 predictions are tongue in cheek. It just feels great to be excited about football again.

Yes most are cautiously optimistic but what supporters aren't the first game of the season? Anyway, I'm going for a 4-0 dismantling of the Rams Tbf, I alluded to it previously - I think people have got slightly too optimistic. We've kept hold of (for now) our key players, had a good pre-season and the obvious drop in quality has provided hope. But there are so many unknown intricate factors - I honestly have no idea how tonight will finish, but that gives excitement. However, the 4-0's and so on, if are serious predictions - then you can see why Derby fans think it's OTT due to how shite we've been at scoring goals for a few years now. My 4-0 prediction had a winky next to it, my actual prediction was 2-1 earlier in the thread. I think we're stepping into the unknown tonight but to a certain extent so are Derby, they have lost alot of their most creative players from last season, they have afew injuries, new players that have been with them afew days & a new coach still implementing his way on the players. It really could go either way but I think home advantage may just see us on the right side of a result.

I think the optimism for tonight - and the season in general - is that we're looking forward to actually being able to compete in every match. There is a possibility that we could win any game, especially as we appear to have remembered how to score goals and not just Grant scoring.
On the face of it we're playing Derby at the right time - beaten in the play-off final, new manager, lost influential loan players and not a brilliant pre-season. The beauty of the Championship is that supporters all the clubs wouldn't be surprised if we either won 4-0 tonight or lost 4-0 or any score in between.

Struggling to get up from a Devon due to work and family commitments until end of August. Seriously fed up at missing start of the season.. Cmon Town. Will give you a special cheer when our third goes in putting us above Leeds. Setting off in about twenty minutes. (Joe)

Just watched the poor quality video of them getting off the coach, didn't see Hogg or Mooy. Anyone else?

Didn't see VLP, Quaner or Mounie
I think it'll be Grant, Diakhaby and Pritchard starting with Kachunga and Mebnza on the bench

Yeah he's not match fit but I thought they might stick him on the bench as a plan z for last ten minute gung ho, throw the kitchen sink etc if needed

Well that should install Cocu with confidence one hour before his first game.

Exactly the side I would have picked
Surprised Brown hasn't made the bench though. I suppose he and O'Brien have impressed and O'Brien must have just shaded it in Jans eyes

Surprised no Brown, would be a good option on the bench from what I’ve seen.
No RVLP, but one winger has to miss out - I suppose Quaner offers more “flexibility” without a fit Mounie.

So no VLP - would have had him on the bench at least

6/5 to win the game and pretty overwhelming favourites, I think it may be a tight, close game and surprised we are so short to win but hope the bookies are right.

Nothing is won or lost on the opening day. I just want to see us have a proper go at it and shake off the shitshow that was last season.
I have every faith that starting XI will do just that.
