Can’t wait for tonight, feels like a long long time since Town had a meaningful competitive match Feels even longer since we had a match that we had a genuine chance of winning!

Interesting that some are still concerned with us signing players, yet Mouine, Kachunga, Quaner and O'Brien can count themselves unlucky (given pre-season) not to at least make the bench in most peoples sides. Mounie, Kachunga and O'Brien would if it were up to me. Katcha is proven at this level and Mounie (if we've not sold him) should be a class above if he gets the service.

What is our pattern of play- attacking approach under Jan? What’s gonna be our main way to score a goal? Have we got any idea on lineup? Mooy will be playing won’t he? Where will Diakhaby and Mbenza play? Up front in a 3 or wide midfield positions ? Is VLP genuinely back in the running for selection? Reading through the posts it appears Hadergonaj is still around and worse people have him starting at right back. He doesn’t understand the basics of defending. The drop in the divisions isn’t going to hide that fact imo. Surely we’ve signed people to play there instead of him? Reading through the posts it appears hadergona is still around? bloody hell you don't know much about the club do you? I took a close season break. I thought he was on his way out of the club? Now he’s suddenly in everyone’s starting line up. What changed? (Other than Smith leaving) I wouldn’t start him unless we had no one else. He’s inept at the back and worse going forward.

Thought after relegation I might see more weekend games. Haven't missed a first game for 20 years but cannot make tonight. Just hope that we don't set up with a genuine one up front like Bristol City yesterday. was Johnson thinking of? One man chasing shadows as Leeds passed it al around the back. No support going forwards from midfield and amateur hour defending and the bookies have them in the play offs!! Get at 'em Town and let's get back to our Terrier identity. Roll on QPR.

A few have claimed to be said person, as yet no row/seat numbers have been disclosed!... but I am being deadly serious. After having a nice empty seat next to me for the promotion season I was joined for the 2 years in the Prem by what can only be described as an oaf who stinks of a blend of piss and lager, with a bit of gravy usually dribbling down his chin. He arrives just after kickoff, making everyone on the row stand up which also leaves me wondering/hoping if he'll be a no-show. The man is as wide as he is tall and spreads his legs more than Pamela Anderson. Sounds like my ex wife🤪

Grabara Flo Elphick Schindler Kongolo Hogg Mooy Bacuna Diakhaby Grant Pritchard Schofield, Bockhorn, Stankovic, Brown, VLP, Mbenza, Koroma I think that will be the 11 starters. The bench is probably close to what it will be (I'm assuming it's Reece Brown), however Coleman, O'Brien, Quaner and even Mounié could also figure. I still think we're a left back short, unless Jaden Brown 'steps up to the plate'. I'd also sacrifice either Quaner or Mounié for another proven goalscorer who is also good in the air. Doesnt soundlike Mounie will be ready for a few games. Due to AFCON he's a few weeks behind everyone in prep. While they were getting fit he'd only just started his holiday after being in the internationals. Although it could be argued how fit does he need to be to do the stuff he was doing most of last season, presumably Jan is looking for a bit more from him this time round.

Do you think 'IF' some players are moving on this week that they will not be in the squad tonight ?

Can be handy in the colder weather - if it weren't for the ammonia smell that accompanies it ..

One would assume that Flo starting is because we only have a German right from their lower leagues who is an unknown quantity at the moment, the only other viable option it seems would be to have Bacuna there as he played on that position once or twice, but we all prefer in the midfield.

Are you really hanging about at the ground already? Was having my lunch and a walk they are trimming all the hedges too pleased about the hedges I think some were going to stay away due to the condition of the topiary and the 'kerbside appeal' of the ground.. The selection of an Audi Q3 from a member of Town's staff may fill some on here with a sense of impending doom though

I'm willing to give Flo one last chance, albeit reluctantly. When he was needed last season he went missing - going down as if shot when touched slightly, feigning injury repeatedly, NEVER tackling (running alongside the opponent doesn't count), losing his man, pointing at team mates to distract from him etc etc - that's all without talking about his lack of crossing ability, the panic when occasionally presented with a chance. I will genuinely be delighted if he steps up this season but, for me, he's got so much to prove.

Last season when he played he was forever getting mullered by their winger or striker down his side. Needs to improve a hell of a lot IMO.

He might be unknown to us but Siewert knows him well from his previous job.. He's not a young kid at 24 years old, wouldn't surprise me if he's in the line up.

Grabara Flo Elphick Schindler Kongolo Hogg Mooy Bacuna Diakhaby Grant Pritchard Schofield, Bockhorn, Stankovic, Brown, VLP, Mbenza, Koroma Exactly how I'd call it. Do we need both Bockhorn and Stank ? If a CB gets injured move TK and Herbie to full back and we should have enough midfielders in case of injury

Just had a quick look on the Derby forum & they seem to think looking on here we're all over confident & we'll smash them? I don't get that tone at all? Yes most are cautiously optimistic but what supporters aren't the first game of the season? Anyway, I'm going for a 4-0 dismantling of the Rams

Everyone going with a similar team bar 1/2 changes. You just know we'll end up seeing a team that we don't anticipate and have an uproar before it's kicked off. Mooy on the bench, Quaner starting, Hamer up front & Efe Sodje at the back.

Yes most are cautiously optimistic but what supporters aren't the first game of the season? Anyway, I'm going for a 4-0 dismantling of the Rams Tbf, I alluded to it previously - I think people have got slightly too optimistic. We've kept hold of (for now) our key players, had a good pre-season and the obvious drop in quality has provided hope. But there are so many unknown intricate factors - I honestly have no idea how tonight will finish, but that gives excitement. However, the 4-0's and so on, if are serious predictions - then you can see why Derby fans think it's OTT due to how shite we've been at scoring goals for a few years now.
