The Labour Party want Barry Sheerlunacy out....but they are so busy stabbing everyone else they have not got around to it. The next Labour candidate is a one-legged Somalian, transgender, homeless beggar who will win by a landslide. I told you all there was no money. I told you all we would not be signing anyone. As a medium sized 2nd tier club we should NEVER pay a fee for anyone anyway. Ludgorets Razgrad squad....half the value of ours and 10 internationals.

Anyway, I refuse to become a full on moaner. We’ve still got an excellent squad with more value to it than we’ve ever had before. I’ve no doubt that those in charge care just as much as the most ardent Town fan. Let’s all keep the faith. Things might click. Hope springs eternal. UTT Agreed, we do have a decent squad but the wrong coach in charge of them.

I’d vote for her if she used her one get to kick you in the bollocks. I’m not sure a team of Tommy Elphick’s is the answer either.

It’s like Chris Powell’s last summer window to me. We didn’t trust him with the funds, what little he did have he wasted on Jason Davidson(!) and was gone 2 months later. The only difference this time being Jan will likely be gone a lot sooner. At least Powell signed a left back! Don’t know whether to laugh or cry about that!

Very interesting 2 days ahead. We’re either: A - Skint B - Happy with the squad C - Don’t want/trust JS to spend anything A & C for me 😃

It could be classed as a hate crime. Also dont mention bollocks in the same sentence as Elphick...a touchy subject....not literally. Finally, Ludgorets would beat Town.

I’d rather we bought Michael Elphick. At least Boon had a motorbike and could fight crime. Far more useful than Tommy to date.

I have it on good authority that Didio, former owner of Didios Golcar and Mr Happy/Diddi's pizza Linthwaite, has been approached by Phil H to play up front. He has previously played for Napoli, Emley and Golcar United. Big Phil said "Thi s signing will take some topping".

I saw them in Dasandros and Neil Lennon was ordering garlic bread.

I don't think he used the parachute payments for the purchase, nor do I think he has shady intentions for the club at all, but he did talk a big game and hasn't really given much confidence to the fans so far. Think that's the problem
"not here to be here to be average, never have done anything average"
There's no one who can argue our signings as a whole have been anything but average. Infact if that was our business under Clark and hoyle in L1 the fans would likely be grumbling. Under hoyle we sold players like clayton and replaced them with butterfields...Lessor money signings, but good signings, and the fans understood the economics. We've replaced 15m PL billing with Reece brown
If we "don't need to sell" then we sell, and don't invest even a quarter of that, then he's opening himself up for criticism. It's not really being negative just genuine quesioning

Indeed,, We have to use at least a 3/4M of what we received in recent outgoings, Surely we will at least be paying some decent wages for a couple of quality loans, wages, loan fees or whatever.

Just wait for us to sell mooy and Schindler and the clubs paid for, manage to sell grant and maybe the 25% will be covered as well.

Reading and Blackburn have spent 7m & 5m on strikers, these two teams had bottom half finishes last season.. I don’t believe they have made any big sales to fund these signings. We have just had 2 seasons in the Premier league and brought in 19m in player sales how can we not have equivalent numbers available to bring new faces in? It all seems a bit fishy to me.

Both owned by billion pound businesses. When our money's gone we're a loss-making club with no-one to bail us out.

Some atrocious (and potentially libelous) comments on this thread. Hope Phil knows somewhere he can get some legal advice...

Does anyone REALLY think that Dean Hoyle, a lifelong fan who bought us when we hadn’t a pot to piss in, who invested millions he thought he’d never get back, who went to war with The Giants and the council purely to benefit the club and put the shares in trust to PREVENT any potential for asset stripping, who gave his all and nearly died whilst chairman...but still ran the club and communicated to the fans from his bed would oversee the downfall of the club to line him and his mate’s pockets? If he didn’t give a damn he’d have sold to a Yank, an Arab or a faceless consortium. He’d have left a hero and his hands would have been clean whatever they did. Instead, he found a guy in his own mould, kept a quarter of the club to ensure continuity and still has all the attachments of the past decade.
I’ve never met either of PH or DH but the insinuation that they are behaving like the Oysten’s of this world is way out of order.

I can guarantee that all those urging multi million pound signings are not financially qualified in any way. Big spending clubs either have owners with very deep pockets or end up like Bolton. It is clear we are in neither category. I would hope that never changes. HTAFC is a well run, well financed long term operation. 22596 attended the Derby game. Jarvis is doing a magnificent job on the commercial side. With the canal side and hotel developments, the asset base is growing without incurring debt. We were not welcome in the premier league as we don’t fit the global branding nature of the premier league product.
My only doubts right now are over the manager. I was prepared to support him through a torrid second half of last season when it was clear we would be relegated, but, I will judge him at the end of 2019

But most players have taken a 30% pay cut, surely that offsets our projected 60% drop in revenue?!?!?

But most players have taken a 30% pay cut, surely that offsets our projected 60% drop in revenue?!?!? Have you got any figures to support that wild statement. The club is quite rightly planning for more than one season in the championship which means the parachute payments will cease at which point the club has to stand on it’s own commercial feet. you can not view this season in isolation.
