So if you're saying it's unlikely he's taken a pay cut, and your saying he's on a least double here, and your saying we could be paying some of his wages. What are you saying? I don’t know what the hell hes saying. I have never heard of a club paying wages after a permanent transfer. Just another bullshit rumor starting. It happens. Rooney was subsidised by Everton when he went to the states, I believe, to fit in their wage cap.

Well we signed something that committed us to it, but the fee we payed will have been on this summers transfer budget.. this years accounts. When you give a player a 5 year contract, you are committed to pay his wage for those 5 years, but the whole total amount doesn;t go on the first years accounts. So even though it still doesn;t seem much, we did spend roughly £9m this summer on incoming transfer fees, not the £800k or whatever people say we did. Said before though, if I was in charge of the purse strings, I wouldn;t be giving money to the same people whod been spending it over the previous 2 or 3 windows. Especially not when I have a new DOF about to start. Id save the money for him to spend in January or the following summer. If thats what Phils done, then I agree with him. The altrenative being to hand the people who brought you Mbenza for £11m all in, to waste another big lump of money on crap. Problem Phil has is that it would be great if he could explain that to the fans. Think most would understand the reasoning. But he can't. It would be basically saying publicly that half your squad are complete wastes of money. Chairman might think that, but he can't say it. Some good points, but on the issue of trust and purse strings. Him and Hoyle had the plan to not appoint a DOF/HOF until after the window closed. Seem to remember they said it was too important and they would manage themselves. Looks a mistake. Also backed Jan, who wasn't involved in any of those poor transfers. Clearly he didn't really. A second mistake. Mistakes happen and should be forgiven, but would be nice to stop making them. Agree, looks a huge mistake. The only explanation can be that they identified the man they really wanted for DOF and had to wait for him. Lets hope he tuns out to be worth the wait. The bit about backing Sievert was clearly bollocks. They gave him a budget similar to what Andy Ritchie might have expected to work with in the pre Hoyle era, and so were the signings that followed. But publicly any chairman is going to say they fully back their manager... can't really say anything else.

That's a great post. This team is useless but even more useless without Mooy. So you'd understand if he went to Newcastle but not Brighton.? Not much difference really, except the fans are not protesting against the board at Brighton. I mean geographically Newcastle would make sense to Mooy as an individual plus they're a much more prestigious club with a huge fan base. I don't see why Mooy would be desperate to uproot his family to sit on the bench for a PL basement team, doesn't make sense. Criminal he hast started a game of football this season and wont do his international career much good either. So why was he so desperate to leave? Answer IMO is; he wasn't.

I'd not heard that but having looked it up, it seems they were still paying him 500k a year when at City. They also paid £20 per month for Ridsdale's goldfish!

HTAFC - a stepping stone to...... Belgrade? I get he said that, their league isn’t the best at all but let’s be honest, VLP is going to be on the biggest stage of a footballers domestic career, Champions League. I’d say he’s had one big bloody good stepping stone to realise that dream, one he wouldn’t realise in England anyway. Imagine he does seriously well there, actually passes the ball, scores goals and provides them, but also does this in the Champions League!! Big ask I know. However, a team say Ajax, PSV, Lyon etc could come calling. So as it seems stupid, it actually is a very smart move on his part. If he fucks about like he did here, at least he has got to play in the best tournament domestically. Red Star haven't qualified for the group stages of the Champions League and they average about 13,000 at home.

This transfer confuses me a bit. Firstly why are we playing guys who dont want to be here, then did we take him off as an injury precaution bearing in mind the deal may be worth 2m plus incl wage savings? Am not going to knock the decision, but allied to the lateness of the mooy deal it does look like a complete purge is in hand. As ever time will tell.

Even more of an achievement than during fit a promotion winning side then? Did Ipswich not want him? Or did he not want to play in div 1? Or did we say we wanted him back? Did Quaner score 7 for Ipswich ? Won't be far off his best ever season if he did Actually I exaggerated a wee bit. Collin got 4 in 16 games at ipswich. But add on the 2 he got for us and it's not bad comlared to VLPs 5 in 113 in the Championship.

I stand corrected and will spend the next 24 hours in mute mode as punishment. So many teams in Eastern Europe now with names I don't recognise from the Rothmans football yearbooks of my youth! No getting away from the fact that 13,500 people in a national stadium don't make much noise. ***Edit*** Now that I know he IS part of a Champions League squad, I'll make a pledge that for every goal or assist VLP gets in the 2019 UCL, I will donate £50 to the HTAFC P4P fund. Minimum donation being £50, assuming he doesn't break the habit of a lifetime and learn how to pass or score.

So the latest BS rumor is we sold VLP but are paying some of his wages. If true this would be stupidity beyond belief. But of course there is zero evidence we have done this it’s just a rumor someone started because they are pissed off.
I am not happy with the club at the moment but not about to start spreading rumors to piss off fans who are already not happy.

Gentlemen,
The sale of VLP was a crucial one in ensuring the long term future of the club.
With 1m in the bank - we achieved a profit of 250k and a service of 3 years.
VLP was an unsettling figure in our dressing room even though he was arguably our best winger and in our starting 11 hours before we sold him.
I am confident that Diabenza will come good and start to repay the 25m outlay; also Kachunga can find the form again of 2017 and get us out of the bottom 3 by May 2020.
It is important that the new manager has a clean slate and no capable wingers or full backs for the season ahead and i'm doing my best to give this to him.
Regards,
PP

This way he is on show in the top division somewhere and we hope and pray we can sell him next summer to fund the league 1 playoff bid. I appreciate there must be talent in there but he is a sellable asset and i think we can get around 6-8m for the coffers if we can sell him and pay off the loans. Regards, PP

That it's acceptable and legal for a club to make an offer for a player WHILST HE'S ACTUALLY PLAYING A MATCH is ridiculous. UEFA/FIFA should be looking at stuff like this rather than making handball a strict liability offence. As for Rajiv, he's given us some wonderful moments in the last few years so I'll thank him for that... However he also seemed to think he was bigger than the club, and that's something I can't forgive easily. Belgrade is probably a shithole and they aren't so used to non-white people there, so I hope he enjoys himself. Think you’re a bit dated with your last part and slightly ignorant. Belgrade is absolutely beautiful. The buildings, nightlife, food and people. Bet you still think the Yugoslav wars are going on eh? Proper ignorant comment tbh Czechoslovakia is much nicer this time of year.

If you thought we'd keep Mooy in the championship you live in a dream world. Billing made it very clear in January he wanted to move. Löwe went home for family reasons. Out of the others who would you have liked us to keep hold of? I'm not bothered about the ones that we let go, I'm more worried about the crap we're left with. Imagine Schindler and Kongolo go by tomorrow night Does Schindler want to stay at Town though? His performances for a long time now suggest otherwise. Kongolo on the other hand is probably our only hope of avoiding back to back relegations.

Could it be that Schindler cares too much, so is frightened of making mistakes, thus making him nervous and actually making mistakes. If so, this is a character flaw which can only be cured by a winning streak. Same could be said of Hogg.

Possibly not enjoying the added responsibility of the captaincy which should never have been given to him, decisions like that should have had the powers that be concerned long before the end of last season but they chose to do nothing and continue to back their man. New manager may change it again I guess.
