I am usually an optimist, trying to see the positives etc in any given situation.
I am glum as hell at the moment. I think it's a combination of Dean and Wagner leaving, relegation and then the current stewardship of the club worrying the hell out of me. It is a feeling that has only swept over me, really, since Thursday when Aaron Mooy left.
So I am looking for reasons to be cheerful. Anything you've got. Hit me...

How about winding the clock back 12 years. Losing to Southend at home in front of 7000 in lg1. No prospects, no atmosphere,no quality, no hope. Fast forward 12 months we've been top of the premier league, broken our transfer record many times over. Record season ticket sales, full houses, highest ever budget for Town side in the championship... Jeez fellas you shouldn't have to work so hard to see positives.

Norwich City. 12 months ago they were all calling for their inexperienced German manager to be sacked. They were all questioning the ambition of their board, having just sold their best players and not reinvested the money in the squad. They started the season with 1 point from first 2 games.

We’ve got an excellent championship squad, and once we get rid of Jan we might start winning some games.

- we are not skint nor in financial dire straits - we have a new boss who is just getting his feet under the table and can over time work on sorting out Dean's bad choices in both players and off the field appointments. - we have a manager who is highly regarded by Klopp and other Germans. - we got a point away at QPR. - still got 44 games to go until the end of the season.

I remember when we appointed a coach on the recommendation of the legendary Bobby Robson. That went as well as this one is panning out.

The ambitions we once had and well, point of going to games has gone now. We can't compete in the Premier League so what is the actual point of trying to get there. Summat to do on a Saturday and, well that's just about it. I was worried I would feel like this..and I do.

I think the point being, people are worried that the example you used against Southend could easily happen again. Footballs a game of quick turn arounds and with poor management of the club. League one and shit crowds certainly seems more realistic at the minute than a return to the big league.

Sorry you’re not too clever, I thought my username might give away where I live. Do you not believe that with the players we have playing under a better manager we’d see better results?

We have a big budget and an ambitious owner (give him time, I know there's little evidence yet) we just need to turn the losing culture around which involves moving on demotivated players. Whether Jan is the man to facilitate this remains to be seen but the club infrastructure is light years beyond what it was back then

Whether Jan is the man to facilitate this remains to be seen but the club infrastructure is light years beyond what it was back then I listened to the Takes That Chance podcast with Dean Hoyle and two things struck me. He talked about two pivotal moments - the last game before eh decided to buy the club - we lost to Southend and he realised no one gave a shit. And then the Chris Powell era coming to an end - a lack of purpose, identity etc. We are, I feel, in danger of these two things converging.

Agree 100%, pointless existing as a sporting club in any sport if you dont want to progress and move forward, i`ll never understand some people.Last season was crap, and so far this season as been a bit flat, but i would never ever say i dont care if we go up or not, absolutely ridiculous.

Thing is what we did against Southend 10 year ago in league 1 is completely irrelevant now. Could easily end up back in league 1 playing the likes of Southend and Colchester in front of 10k.
