Please let's not add 'he's one of our own' to our list of cringey chants. I don't know what it is exactly, but that 'one of our own'/'scores when he wants' chant format always makes my skin crawl. It's an absolute dirge.

He has never supported town fact ! I noted in his interview that there was a lot of talk about Huddersfield being his home town but no mention of who he supported.

I wanted to like this, but being a glory supporter of any other team is a huge step up from supporting that lot from Beeston. Decent bit of business, but as somebody who never supported the club and didn't come through our youth system, Frazier Campbell is not one of our own. (Ryan Schofield on the other hand.....) Point taken maybe got a bit carried away there. However I don't have much time for Man Utd fans from anywhere but Manchester either. To be fair to FC he doesn't actually seem to be claiming it. Some people just seem desperately to want to imprint it on him. However it's just not the truth. TBF I've heard that he's a Man Utd fan but then, if you had the chance to learn the game there or at HTFC, I think most town fans (if talented enough) would prefer to learn from the best.

TBF I've heard that he's a Man Utd fan but then, if you had the chance to learn the game there or at HTFC, I think most town fans (if talented enough) would prefer to learn from the best. That's actually my main problem, if he supported town and went to Man Utd anyway I could welcome him 'back' in the way some people want to. I wouldn't expect a kid or his parents to give up a golden ticket at 10 when we were probably in League Two. However there are a loads of people from Huddersfield that don't support town. They should but they don't. Some of my mates support Man Utd. Kids glory supporting big teams punishes the likes of town and it's getting worse. He could be from London and support town and be one of our own. However what if he was from Brighouse or Elland and supported Man Utd? Would they still say he's of of our own? All I am saying is that there seems to be decent cross section of people who seem desperate to imply he has some sort of soft spot for us and we should have for him. He doesn't and we shouldn'. However he could be and I hope very much hope he earns it. Edit - and as I said before he's not saying it himself, so I suspect he knows.
