What about him? He actually had a short stint at Town. He also ruined our season with THAT tackle on Chris Marsden, we'd have gone up automatically instead of suffering black Thursday

Someone with experience, is a winner and plays an attractive brand of football.. Agreed, I just want to turn up and enjoy my football again. Someone who can put a team playing with tempo, creating chances and scoring goals. It might not happen every week but if I can see that is what the man in the hot seat is striving for I'd be happy. One of the things most notable has been the absence of 'the press' in our play during recent times.

Well whoever it turns out to be, for me it will be somewhat of a final "test" on the new club management.
Appoint the more likely "expensive" option of a quality experienced manager and that would be a PASS, take a cheap option (for example Hudson - though he may turn out to be a gem), and it would be a FAIL.
In my view this summers transfer activity has already been a FAIL by just about any measure (other than of course being financially challenged and being successful at pinching pennies). PH has done little to encourage much belief in any high aspirations (not unlike DH the summer before when the recruitment was not much short of a disaster).
I had said that while I did not expect full reinvestment of funds received from sales (not parachute payments - accept line about those for keeping club sustainable), my statement was if they reinvest half of the sales funds than that would show some intent, but at least a quarter had to be spent to show any ambition. And what did we spend - £1M out of £25M !
That has turned my thinking and opinion around significantly. Will now await to see what happens with this appointment, wanting to be optimistic, but am fearing something else. Think my Happy Clappers days may well be numbered.
Oh, by the way, never thought I would say it, but please spend a few pounds and bring back to silly stupid clappers, damned if they don't make a difference.

I'll go with my suggestion the other day.. Hannes Wolf.. Coached BVB II so he ticks that box, head coach of Stuttgart & Hamburg in 2.Bundesliga for 80 games combined, earning a promotion with Stuttgart as champions. Currently at 20/1 to be our next manager.

Personally I find pressing football the most pleasurable to watch. Lots of comments that we were never free scoring under Wagner. True - but I still found the pre Spurs brand exciting football. Even when the opposition was in possession , it felt like something could happen. So..... whoever it is I’d like them to believe in a high press. Without very much research at all that leaves me picking the guy from Barnsley - the fact that I can’t remember his name shows the degree of ignorance surrounding my pick. It's been claimed he was there last night and pointed out they don't play us for some time and have already played Fulham, no idea if he was or quite what to read into it if so.

Can't remember his name but a journalist and Town fan was on TalkSport before the Fulham game and agreed that Siewert was on borrowed time, when pressed he tipped Sol Campbell as his probable and Gary Monk as his preferred - he did add that he realised that pick would leave him in a minority of one as no other Town fan would tolerate him.

Whoever they go for it has to be somebody with experience & success in this league imo. My choice would be Hughton but I'd settle for somebody else of equal standing. If he goes for the cheap option of Hudson and he fails then Phil deserves all the flack that will come his way.

I think it will be Adkins.
Brings youth through, experienced and got out of this league before.

I'd love Moyes (think pre Man Utd). Don't think for a minute he'd come or we could afford him.
I'd like the Cowley Brothers, bit of a wildcard appointment.
I think we'll get Adkins. Wouldn't be overly disappointed with that.

Or we could try something different, Christopher Schindler as player manager with Jonathan Hogg as player/assistant manager and Mark Hudson in the dugout. I can’t see a problem with them getting the respect of the players.

If we get the scummy/soton Adkins I’d be alright with it. Not the Reading/Sheff U one. Done alright at Hull but he did have Bowen at his disposal!

Someone experienced steady and safe until the end of the season wouldn't be too bad. Steady the ship and manage the players expectation. Even moving them on or getting them back on board. Keep us out of a relegation battle. Without moving very far away from the Wagner 4231, Adkins would be OK for this.
For the longer term though, he would be quite an uninspiring choice and would prefer we stick with highly rated younger coaches. When you are operating on a budget you have to do things differently to others
