Why cant these supporters understand and comprehend the simple message from Siewert.
The host and Oggy explained it....and it's 100% acceptable...the set off players on the field last night were not as qualified or experienced to win the game as the team they were up against.
Is a fact. Why are they saying "we were EPL and they were 4th division".
Look at the players who were on the fields.

Toffolo and Bolger far more experienced and having played in a winning team compared to any of our defenders. A pair of strikers with 100s of games worth of experience and something like a 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 goal scoring ratio between them, we had a lad up front who has had one decent season at Leyton Orient in the National League, having failed to make any impact in League 2. Our advantage compared to them was they had an inexperienced keeper, and we played with Kachunga, Mbenza and Bacuna who should be better than the equivalent players on the other team (plus arguably Chalobah although in reality he’s probably on a par with Jack Payne). They had more experienced overall XI who have largely been playing at a higher, more competitive level than ours, and off the back of a promotion and a good start to the league and the feel good that gives a club. Anyone who disagrees with what Siewert is saying about what we should have expected from the comparative teams has no idea what they are talking about. I agree on the lack of identity....but that made no difference last night, and wasn’t what Siewert was talking about. The team with the better quality of players won, simple as that. If you’re going to attempt to belittle me, please respond to the actual point I was making rather than some made up thing that you think I’m thinking, and then you might get a bit of respect and dignity in response. Thanks 😘

He picks the team, so he can't come out afterwards and say they are not ready etc. As a manager you pick the 11 players that are best suited to winning the football match, sounds like Jan was using it a s a glorified friendly game to have a look at player, in which case he is an even bigger idiot than I first thought and has taken the piss out of every fan who went down last night.

6 of our starting line up yesterday played for teams who finished lower than Lincoln last season
4 were in the premier league squad, 1 played in the championship
I don’t think we should be that surprised we lost
But forget yesterday’s result / team choice, the wider and more fundamental point is the same. This team is nowhere near good enough to be in the top 6. Miles away.
Any manager will do well to get it to top of the bottom half
Without Mooy and no replacement I downgrade that to say any manager will do well to get this club to 16th
We spent peanuts on players league 2 & below / German equivalent
Significant underinvestment from the Board in the summer after 2 terrible transfer windows
This summer. Net £20m + transfer fees & Mooy loan fee in (than £1m spent).
The Board got exactly what they deserved yesterday
The fans didn’t

I agree that is the question worthy of being asked. From the snippets I’ve heard over the last day, and making a few leaps of faith, it SEEMS that he in conjunction with the support of Phil Hodgkinson, decided they would take the risk of naming an inexperienced side, because of the upcoming game on Friday and because these players have to get some competitive game time somewhere. I suspect they expected we would still have enough about us to win, is that because of under estimating Lincoln or over estimating the quality and desire of our own players, I don’t know. But...it’s hardly a surprise, we’ve been putting crappy teams out in the cups for a few years now...most fans know and accept this don’t they, it’s part of the reason why the crowd was down as low as it was...for me and I’m sure others, attending a League Cup game is about as pointless as forking out to watch us play Doncaster or whoever in pre season has become. Very pointless. What happened last night bears no relation whatsoever to how the team will go out and perform on Friday (other than maybe Bacuna losing a starting berth and big questions to be asked if VLP isn’t in the squad). (And just for clarity in case anyone thinks I’m defending Siewert...my belief back in January was it was a mistake to appoint him (and by December I’d kind of decided we were heading for relegation whoever came in) even with the free ride that relegation was a given. But what I’ve seen of him throughout last season makes me think it would have been a mistaken appointment no matter when it happened...and having seen the Derby game and 20 mins of the QPR game I’m a bit conflicted...if it was me making the decisions there’s still enough I like about his character that makes me think...”let’s give it until the international break”..but as things stand he will be gone them unless there is significant and tangible improvement in performances AND results over these next few games. As a fan I’d be more than happy if he lost his job today or Friday night).

Read what others have written on this thread...MOST of our team last night were players who played in teams that finished below Lincoln last season. The idiots are those who expect we should have therefore had enough to beat them, “cos we were Premier League last season” !! Maybe Jan and Phil deserve that idiot label too...I think they took a measured gamble that it’s easy to bash them with after the match...nobody complained when we played a crappy team against Man City in the cup and got away with a 0-0 draw.

(Likewise I had no idea there was someone called Matt on the programme...I don’t go around remembering names of people I don’t really need to).

I don't know the name of the BBC presenter who hosted tonight...was it Tom or Tim or Tony... How on earth would I be expected to know the names of the guests who were introduced just as regular fans and a "we'll hear from the fans" type intro (may have been a reference to who the fans were earlier on...I was only listening from about 615 or so?) Oh... I've engaged with you again. You're good at this!🤷♂️
